Depends on how much you want to spend. The place i stayed was 40 a night and was very adequate, in the Prado area. Has food service and daily maid service. It is used by the locals, so is not really a touristy type place. For me it was a half a block from my girlfriends and her family so it was nice. If you want the name send me a PM.

www.tripadvisor.com  is a great resource for information on travel.  You can get info and travelers' feedback on hotels, things to do, etc.   It's not strictly for guys looking for mujeres, but it's a useful tool.

The north part of town is the best part of the city. You can find a variety of hotels. Hotel  Caribe 79 is good, Barranquilla Plaza hotel is just 2 or 3 blocks away. On Calle 84 you got  the Windsor. These three Hotels are located on or close to the most happening areas of the city clubs, hotels and malls. They are either on walking distance or just a 5min.drive/$5000 cab fair which it is less than 3 US Dollars.

If you need any help just send me a PM.

If a person doesn't know what he/she wants, he/she generally doesn't want what they got.

Sometimes we substitute the physical connection, or even the occasional emotional connection, for the real relationship we want to be in.

Personally, I have always prefered this place.  Low-key, nice pool, have a kitchen.  Close to a major street.  I always paid around 85K a night.

If it's within your budget, Hotel el Prado is the best hotel in Barranquilla if you like beautiful Colonial architecture.  If you know someone or are a good negotiator, you can get a room for $150.000 pesos (including taxes), but the street rate is $US150.00.

It's worth the extra cost just to check it out for a day or two.

Prado is nice from the outside, but the rooms looked like an hourly rate motel back when I saw it (3 years ago)

Dann Carlton is one of the nicer hotels and is across the street from Buenavista mall.

Valleclaire Suites is a nice apartment style hotel that I used for many of my trips.  Has pool, and is very affordable and decent location.

Windsor is very nice on the outside, I've never seen the inside but it looks like one of the nicest hotels BAQ has to offer.

Plaza is a good all around choice, but they ask a little too much.

Hope this helps
