Should I purchase addresses from Jaime to start with?
« on: January 22, 2009, 08:32:48 PM »
Even though what i read last night bugged me ... i have heard many success stories on this board already. Im going to assume positively not all the girls are like what i read and respect theirselves enough to be loyal in a relatioship since i have heard success stories here and good advice.

So that said if i were to proceed... would i buy some addresses from Jaimes site? some recommended International Introductions by consuelo as well... but is that part of this? seems similar name wierd.

Or did you guys who used jaimes just bite the bullet and go for the package a few months before you were to go?

My preliminary plans now (which can change depends on lots of work factors) is to be in colombia for 2 weeks but not sure if itll be May June JUly or August or Septemeber.

Thats roughly 3-4 months away.

As for myself, I bought the entire package deal. I didn't want to leave anything to chance and cheap out any possibility of getting the woman of my dreams. But I suppose upon looking back, I might have worked it with just emails. But I was dead serious about a woman, and looking on various forums including here, I did not see a whole lot of success of people getting very far not going the whole rout. So by buying the whole enchilada, I was completely cared for from when I got off the plane to getting back on.
The assistant that was assigned to me knew exactly what I was looking for, took me to get money transferred, gave me insight into what the girls were thinking about me. Organized my dates with places I liked to eat and go to places the lady wanted to go as well. Pretty much organized my entire time there. I even had a little misunderstanding with one of the ladies as my Español is not exactly up to snuff, but my assistant/translator stepped in and patched everything up.
So if you feel that you are capable of handling all that a woman translator does with a woman's perspective that speaks stone fluent Spanish and very good English, has a good idea of where to go in town, understand how these women think and where the safe banks are then yes, maybe you save yourself a little cash. But for me, I bought the package, left everything up to my assistant and as a result, left Colombia with EXACTLY the woman I wanted. Latin Wife took $1475.00 fom me for the package, and honestly by having a woman who loves me to death for the rest of my life, I would pay him again if he would take it. What is your future with a knockout woman that loves you without any reservations worth to you? A decent engagement ring will cost you $1000.00, so again for me this was not something I wanted to screw up by doing stuff on my own.  :D

I never bought any addresses from Jaimes agency but I did send him some pictures of myself and a list of women that I was interested in.

He got back with me in a couple of days and based on the response  I got from the women (too few and the less attractive of the bunch) I decided to say in Cali.

Seems to me that buying addresses before hand or sending Jaime your profile like I did, isn't a bad investment.

Or you could just hire any translator you want. Probably for a lot less than $100 a day as well.

  bcc_1_2,

Yes, obviously you could simply go with any translator around town. But for me, the translator / assistant coming from the agency I was using made the most sense. She knew what type of woman I was looking for, she spoke with all of my perspective women I was interested in before I even got off the plane, during the date and after. And because the assistant actually worked for the agency, she really had a more vested interest in my overall success than just some guy you're going to pay off the street. Also some guy you scoop up off the street is not going to have the database / contacts my assistant had, they really have an entire structure behind them. Jamie's translators do more than the average person that just translates your lame Spanish into something the lady will understand.
I don't think there is a right or wrong answer here. But for me, I wanted someone to turn my wishes into reality and the cost even though it was more than most places are charging was worth every nickel as I came back with the love of my life. His results are phenomenal and I can only add to his list of extremely satisfied customers. Not worth giving that responsibility of finding my next bride into the hands of some dude off the street for me.
But yes definitely whatever works for the individual! :)

I have never been able to understand using a translator. Even when my Spanish was horrible we muddled through and it was a nice test of the relationship. Eventually you have to go cold turkey without the translator. What happens then?

You could also just search out free websites for Colombian singles and write that way. Then you do not have to worry about the IMBRA issues that ALL IMBs face when they provide introductions to USCs for pay.

Just to add something more to the stew here:

For a poor soul like myself not having a decent command of the Spanish language, the translator/assistant helped immensely. In my case, she was more than helpful when you didn't know how to say something, caught a few mistakes the restaurants were trying to pull on the ol' gringo when we went out to lunch/dinner and basically took all of the guesswork out of being there.

To bounce around down there solo was NOT going to be any sort of option for me. I wanted someone to lead me around with taxi drivers that are trustworthy and kept me out of trouble from the riff-raff. But yes, the translator only takes you so far. Once I found the lady that I have now, the translator/assistant dropped out of the scene. We did muddle through our conversations at first (her horrible English vs. my even worse Spanish) but it became obviously more intimate this way.  :-* :)

Still muddling through our language barrier ???, but I would not have have gotten this far without my assistant down there!

ok Pivery this is what I think Sean was getting at. Should you pay $1475 for the package and then $95 a day for additional days of translation and $100 bucks a night for lodging? Or should you spend $150 bucks for the email addresses of your top 30 choices? Find a better value translator (findalatina would be an example that got a good client review) and stay at the lodging of your choice (again likely less expensive)?

The reason I play devil's advocate is... because if this was anyone else other posters would definiately be asking these questions. Normally the advice would be to work to get the agency out of the picture. To get in contact directly with the ladies of your choice.

I'm going to be gone for awhile but hopefully posters will look past their biases and at least consider the obvious. If you can buy your top 30 pick's email addresses for $150 and get a nice $50 a night hotel and good translator for less... shouldn't you do it?

And I'm with UtopiaCowboy a little bit. After the first couple of days you really shouldn't be using a translator for communication anyways.

When you consider all the money and trips (time) it takes for this venture. I think my devils advocate question should be given some thought. If everyone went this route it would put this agency out of business. Which is why Sean was suggesting that going the email buying route was being discouraged.

And in findalatina's reponse in the introduction thread she gave her response to Jamie's agency. Is it possible findalatina is more well liked by the girls and the community overall? Something to at least consider.

Bcc raised some good points. I know when I first went to Colombia my Spanish was nearly non-existent and a translator was one option I used to try and meet some women. Of course, translation was free provided I had the first date in the agencies. As my Spanish improved and I felt more comfortable with the city, I proceeded to meet women without one. And I think if you ask most women, they would prefer not having a three-way conversation..

If it's your first trip though, a translator can be a good idea especially if he/she has a car and can also drive you around town. They can also suggest cheaper hotels and tips for places to take your dates. Just make sure everything is spelled out clearly. A very reliable guy I hired charges only $7 an hour for driving around town and translating. No paying extra $ for dinners/meals for him and his date, drinks, his entrance fees to clubs, etc.

If folks are going to recommend agencies then I'd suggest Colombiacupido in Manizales. The owner is very customer service oriented, doesn't BS clients, his introduction rates are reasonable, and the ladies show up. (I know, that's a shocking concept, lol.) Perhaps one day he'll post on this board.

Anyway, these recent discussions are a big difference from when I first joined up here so I'm going to bow out for now. I think Ray and the other moderators have done a good job trying to keep things friendly but things have changed. I still hope this board will continue to exist because a lot of valuable info is here and I know I received plenty of good advice.

 Hey Guys,
Is the $1475 for a one time visit or can you return as many times as you like until you get married?

Ok hold on...

I guess If you never had used his service those who are asking would be unawares of this here fact:

The $1475.00 INCLUDES the assistant/translator & the accomodations. :)

Think of it like one of those all-inclusive vacations to club med or ?

I paid nothing extra aside from my $1475.00.

When I used Jamies services, I thought the price was too high for what it was.  That's why I used the service "discover latin women interested in you".  It worked out well for me and I met my wife after talking through emails for a month.  If you do go this route, make sure you also have your travel dates ready, because the girls won't take you too seriously if they don't think your coming down.

The agency is good on staying on top of the ladies for replies and so on, which gave me very quick replies.  Although the "discover" package only allows you to choose 30 girls, I believe you can add to that if you want for a few bucks each additional girl.  I think I chose over 90 girls, not knowing what to expect or what type of reply I would get.  Of the 90 odd I got over 70 positive responses (aprox, it's been a while).

If your on the fence whether this adventure is for you, then I suggest the discover package, so that you can see what type of reply you get.  However I know several people on this site have gone the full package and often repeat it, so it must be worth it.

So I guess I left some holes in my answers to all interested:

Once uopn a time, I decided to go the route of looking for a traditional woman and get away from the New American Femi-nazis here in the states. A woman that actually wants a family and take good care of her man, what a concept! :)

So as I started weeding through all of the various cheesy sites, some were obviously B.S. and would have the same lady's picture on different sites with different names. You could not call these places as it would go to some silly answering machine which did not return any of my messages. Becoming frustrated, I came across Latin-Wife. I could tell right away this was a different type of business type-legitimate! So he got my business as a result of actually exchanging numerous emails to Jamie and actually talking with him on the telephone. What a difference, put me completely at ease...

Most if not all of you know generally how his service works but in case some are curious to see how a sausage gets made: You email him a list of ladies you found on the profiles on his site (which are all up to date) and send your questionnaire which is telling the ladies something about you. (I am divorced...I like spaghetti...I like rainstorms...) Also send him some good pics of you (tuck your shirt in and comb your hair please ;D)
Anyway, Jamie searches his huge database of ladies and based on what type of woman you are looking for and at the same time he is showing the ladies your pics and questionnaire and boils down what ladies he thinks are interested enough to want to meet you.

I didn't want to do the email thing. The ladies are a bit hesitant about having a correspondence with dudes from what I found out when I got there. They get flooded (especially the very good looking ones) with emails and letters and they just don't take these guys seriously. They have alot of turkeys that tell them all kinds of garbage, and so as a result from talking to some of these women, I found that for the most part, they blow these guys off since the men don't give them any sense of coming down. If they like you and you tell them, "Hey I'm coming down March 3rd for a few days..." they light up and actually have something to look forward to. When you show up down there that means you were serious and not just looking for a new pen pal.

Maybe I strayed away from the answer I was trying to get across. The $1475.00 is for 3 days. There is an additional charge after this time. If my memory serves me, it was $180.00 per day. This includes accomodations (I was at the beach house) and a translator/assistant. So for some this is a bundle of money, and it was for me as well. However, if you price out any sorta upscale hotel down in BAQ, they are running $100 plus and this is without any suppport from an agency. But here is where I see how it ended up being worth it (for me):

You think you will only have a couple of girls interested in you, but once I got to his office, there was a 4-page printout (!) of women that wanted to meet me. All but a few showed up and all looked 80% better than they did on the site. On top of that, women who see you and your pic while you are there will ask to meet you as well. I went from hoping I could have a couple of dates to wow, I am going to have to cut this down to maybe 25! :o

You are kept so occupied with beautiful ladies that are holding onto your arm and want to show you their city, your gripes about what you paid melt away QUICK! :-* :) :-*  I have never had to turn women away in my lifetime (a man's dream for sure!) but there was so many ladies that were wanting me for themselves, I actually felt bad for them.

Now one last thing, all of the ladies that I asked (90% that I remembered to ask) told me they do not even bother responding to the guys that email them. Almost none of them materialize in Colombia after e-wining and e-dining them. So although I was thinking about emailing ladies when I first started, I am so glad I didn't. Yes, I am aware that some guys here found their lady by whispering sweet nothings via email, but at least from what I gathered by being there in November, this is for the most part frowned upon and not taken very seriously. You pays your ticket and you takes your chances, but I got the beautiful lady I wanted and it would not have happened doing correspondence.

I apreciate al of the information people have posted.

Pivery you and some others nicely written informative emails really help and gives food for thought....dont know if i woulda known the girls might blow off email writers. You know its WORK to do this search well. Sometimes the insight that is on the written post.... but also thats between the lines really is nice. Some people forget not all of us... wether good looking or not... arent ladies men that know exactly what to say and do .. especially with laides from another country. I probably have a better idea than most because I have some experience but still having good info like some of these posts are VERY helpful and offer insight into the big picture.

I like to hear everyones opinions wether negative postsive or neutral on the subjects.

Frankly...its alot for me... this is a BIG decision as well as a pretty big investment in multiple ways.  I did buy 3 emails this weekend. But I definately am not ruling out a package deal at Jaimes or something similar. Im just gonna keep researching.... and asking questions because the info i gain have led me to better decisions than i probably would have made randomly.

But i have a general question:  Are most guys who use the package deal live deal picky as far as women looks wise education wise ... or alot more relaxed on such things?

From experience any info?

It doesn't really matter what "most guys" want, or how picky "most guys" are.

The important thing is that "you" find the type of woman "you" are looking for, and she finds you.

Finding a woman with "Looks" good enough is the LAST thing you should be concerned about in going to Barranquilla.  You've heard the whiplash stories from Montrealer, someone who's living there now, as well as others.

Possibly surprisingly, you'll find a good percentage of women have at least a techical (3-year) degree from college, because selected majors in college are FREE education in Barranquilla.

When I came down the first time I met a few women that I was talking with by email the previous month.  I remember one of them was drop dead gorgeous (at least my type) and we hit it off through email quite well.  I met her first, and she was as good looking as she was in the photo.  Also the chemistry was there, but then I met my now wife and knew this was the woman for me.  She was the youngest one on my list at 22 (everyone else was 25-29), but she captured my heart.

In conclusion, it is important to know what you want when you go down.  If you don't find exactly what your looking for on Jamies site then maybe make the move of coming down solo and trying it on your own.  However, I remember looking at Jamies site back then and falling in love many times with some of the pictures.

I have no regrets using Jamies service, and I know several people that are repeat customers of his $1475 service.

Maybe I do have one regret, not banging that gorgeous chick I met my first trip. ;D
But we'll keep that between me, you and the board. :P

pivery , 1500 is cheap if you find the lady of your dreams . there are a few x posters who have spent thousands upon thousands and all they have are stories , don't get me wrong nothing wrong stories but if you want to play or be serious that is up to you . what you put into it , you will get out of it.

I for sure (if I was looking) would do something like a jamie program before I would spend 1000 for a 2 day tour , if they still have them .

I really do not see how jamie can have so much into a 3 day deal ... I would consider lowering that price a little and I bet he would get more clients ... but that is his chioce .

but to your question , of course i would buy a few address's there are so many to choose from ... and its cheap .
