you would like some stats ????

Naa its cool I'm back alive.  :D  I'd don't know how safe or dangerous the place is even after being there. We did try and keep a low profile and we made it out the other end. Would it just be a matter of time for any of us no matter how careful we are? Probably a good chance of that. Another reason why I'm curious about BAQ and Cartagena.
Retiring in Tela, Honduras is 14,600 days (haha)

of course you made it back alive ... just about everybody does. But if you choose to look through rose colored lenses and don't see clearly then you could be in trouble. Its the ones who fail to acknowledge that there could be a problem .

Like for example , have you ever heard of ANYBODY taking a rode trip from Bogota to Cartagena ???? I don't even think many locals would consider doing this . But yet Colombia is a safe place ..... go figure that one out .

Or the guy who married a colombia chick and that girl can't even visit her own farm for fear of being kidnapped .. oh yes but it is safe .... so they say .

I could go on and on but those in denial well remame in denial .... forever

and for UC ... please ask your wife what is what like back in the late 90's when they had biggest taxie scam going on in your wifes city . half of all taxie drivers were in on it and every law enforcement agencie was trying to figure out how to break it !

My wife wouldn't be the one to ask. According to her even during the worst Escobar years, the city was always "muy tranquilo".
