I leave for Peru in 5 days and 4 hours + I am going nuts..

Wow time is flying right along..

A guy asked me if I am getting nervous.. My answer is not at all and I can't wait for our magical day. I am going too crazy preparing things for the wedding and getting me and my 2 young kids ready for our trip to Chiclayo , Peru with a 4 day stop in Lima.

There has been challenges preparing for the Wedding and misunderstanding. Remember no matter how good your amor speaks English she still thinks in Spanish and translates it to English as my friend slojas reminded me today.

My Novia is quite smart , very thrifty and very mature. But she does not have a clue about the real world and money. I have wanted to scream in frustration sometimes over the last few weeks and have counted to 30 a few times.

raycjs , Dave H and slojas have helped me get through the frustrating time and not to overreact.

IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL RELATIONSHIP WITH A LATINA YOU MUST HAVE THE PATIENCE OF JOB like in the Bible..jajajajja

My Novia is sweet and has tried her best but has made some mistakes that are really hitting me hard in the pocket book and my trip budget has went out the window.

She is mortified and very upset that she made some mistakes but heck we are all human.. I feel like schmuck for getting a little mad at her last week and this weekend.

I apologised to her and she said mi amor you have a lot of stress and you need to relax and have many kisses and hugs with me.

I have to take and I am taking responsibility for a good portion of the miscommunication between us.. I have to keep working on improving my Spanish.. This is much more my fault then hers..

My Novia has made the mistake of trying to do everything herself and not delegating things to her family and friends.

My trip with my kids was going to be originally 27 days but I am going to have to cut it down drastically. My kids and I are leaving 8 days before our Wedding because of all the paperwork I have to do in Lima for 4 days first and I am seriously thinking of trying to come back 3 days after our wedding.

My Novia and my kids will not like this and will be very upset but one has to face financial reality in life.

Relationship's and marriage are not perfect and you have to work at it together and talk and talk and try to understand each other. Plus give each other a lot of love and respect..

My good friend slojas gave me some great advice about 6 months ago well he was telling me a story about his successful relationship and marriage..

He said he always tries to apologise after a disagreement , fight or argument first to his wife and you have to swallow your pride sometimes..

Life is too short to let arguments fester I think.. As in the the Movie of Life of Brian by Monty Python they sang.. " Look on the bright side of life ".

Again as I have mentioned in previous posts if anyone is in Peru around Dec 20 /08 you are more then welcome to come to the wedding.. The Ladies of Peru are very special and especially the ladies of Chiclayo , Peru so be a gentleman.

Our trip to Peru starts with a 12 hour lay over in Miami where we will meet up with raycjs , slojas and Dave H. That will be great to meet my good friends in person. raycjs is being great and also picking my 2 children and I up from the Airport and having us over at his house during our layover.

My kids are looking forward to go from 5 Fahrenheit weather at 6 am in Toronto to jumping in the water around 2 pm.

I will soon be a widower no longer and will close that chapter of my life. I will always have my late wife Yvonne in part of my heart but I must carry on and look towards the future. I am madly and deeply in love with my Novia Roxi..

My Novia has added some things extra to her vows..

She is going to publicly promise my Late wife and God in front of the church and her family to take care , love , cherish my kids and I.

I will try not to lose it but I doubt I will be successful. This is all her idea and what a wonderful and beautiful woman she is..

She has made my 12 yr old daughter the Maid of honor and my 9 year old son is going to be my co - best man.

In closing , I think what makes a great and happy relationship and or marriage for both partners boils down to a few words " Respect , Love , Trust and putting each other first before yourself " (this last one only works if you both do it ).

Te amo Peru and mi Novia Roxi,

singlefather

I know that all of this will get worked out and everything will go smooth for you and your new family. I can not believe that in 5 days you will be here in sunny Florida. WOW...... Please keep the faith and all will go well......

Hey SF,

It's now 4 days and 15 hours...but who's counting? This is one of the hardest phases. "I apologised to her and she said mi amor you have a lot of stress and you need to relax and have many kisses and hugs with me." That will be one of the best and easiest times!  :-* It will be hard to be separated again...but it is only temporary. After the wedding, she will be so much closer to being in your arms every day. Then all of the pain and heartache of being apart are soon forgotten! Patience..."Sometimes, I get so tense but I can't speed up the time..." Sorry about Axl's red hotpants!  8)

Congrats SF. It sounds like you have a very special lady there.

I agree with slojas. Remember that apologizing to and forgiving others benefits you as much or perhaps more than it does the person you're apologizing to.

Best wishes for a life of happiness.

fathertime , do you anticipate to bring this lady to your home after your marriage in Peru ? The reason i ask this, I don't believe that through US embasy that your time with her in person would be acceptable to allow her entry . Perhaps in Canada it is different . I do know that Canada and Peru has a very good working realtionship and there are several factories in Toronto that really helps these people out that travel from Peru .

Why do you say this? The standards seem to be quite different for a spouse as opposed to a fiancee, at least in my experience. No one at the US embassy asked us any questions other than matching up my wife's kids with their names and ages. In fact I often tell people that the only evidence of our relationship that any immigration official ever saw from start to green card was our marriage certificate.

sabound may not be as up on the rules as he thinks. I am sure that Ray can probably add on here, but I don't remember ever seeing any minimum other than having met when it comes to time spent together to justify the marriage. They even wave having met before marriage for those who have religous reasons or whatever. As long as you have evidence supporting your having gotten married, that's all it asks for...

First of all I am not Fathertime.. I am single father.. Yes she will be traveling to Canada after we get married and she is approved as a permanent resident..

I hope you research the US Immigration process so if you need it you will understand the rules.. All the best of luck to you.

I have researched and understand the Canadian Immigration process..

Take care and have a great night,

Try to relax and enjoy it Singlefather.  I just arrived in Cusco today, purchased a chip for my phone and will be calling a local woman tomorrow after a tourist trip during the day.

Definitely not bragging, because I was an idiot, but I married my ex the day after we met face to face (after a year or so of emails and phone calls) and spent all of a week or so with her before coming home and I did not see her again until she arrived about a year later after she made it to Hartsfield Airport. I think she took about 5 pics of us together with her to her interview.

Regardless of whatever stories we may have, I believe you will be hard pressed to find anything documented that supports what you seem to want to stick with. There aren't any minimums when it comes to meeting and marrying that I know of. If you can find anything, please feel free to post it with a valid link. I am not talking about stories, but something from the actual paperwork.

I believe SF has already answered your question as far as his situation. You may want to read it...

     SingleFather,
Congratulations! My wife has been here over a month and I have to say that she is the best thing that has ever happened to me. That doesn't mean that there haven't been times my patience has been tested. For example, I bought a cheap car to teach her how to drive. We have been going to empty parking lots so she can take the wheel and get used to everything. Last weekend I was getting her used to parking near the curb. She was doing excellent. The last try she pulls up to the curb and as she is putting the brake on, her foot slips off the pedal and she puts the gas to the floor. We go over the curb and right into a tree before she can get the car stopped. She feels awful about it. I was able to replace the radiator, AC condenser, and bumper from parts I got at a salvage yard cheap. The dents I just hammered out. To me its no big deal but I could tell she was a bit apprehensive on her next lesson. I think the key is as you have said "patience".

Good luck SF and again, Congrats.

S.F.

Guy's i have know S.F. for about year and half now and i can tell you that if anyone is up on all the laws it is S.F. So please do not worry about what he can or can not do. He has done a ton of research on this subject and he know what he has to do to have his beautiful wife Roxi here in his life for him and his children.

I love the story about teaching your wife to drive.... You are a better man then i..
I took my wife out to teach her to drive after 15 min i had her turn the car around and take it back to the house i told her if we wanted to stay married it would be best for me to hire a driving school to come to the house and pick her up in there car and teach her to drive... This was the best $ 300.00 i ever spent they came to the house and took her out for 6 two hour lessons over a period of 2 weeks and then for another $ 95.00 they took her to motor vehicle for her test. She past and now drives everday in one of our family cars. Once again this was the best money spent... Researcher you had me laughing on the floor because if i would have stayed at it with her i would have been repairing the car from her driving and my liver from my drinking......  (Just kidding on the liver)

bets of luck to all

Hi sabound,

Only spending a short amount of time with one's wife or fiancee is not the problem. There were probably other issues involved. "certain conditions makes an applicant ineligible for an immigrant visa to the United States:

Drug trafficking.
Having HIV/AIDS.
Overstaying a previous visa.
Practicing polygamy.
Advocating the overthrow of the government.
Submitting fraudulent documents."

Perhaps you meant that "they were unable to bring there new brides home with them ..." immediately. That is true and most guys are aware of this. An immigration petition must first be filed by Single Father for his wife. In SF's case,  he told me that it should take around 6 months for his wife to arrive in Canada.

In the US, forms must be filed for an Immigrant Visa for a Spouse (IR1 or CR1) or a Nonimmigrant Visa for a Spouse (K-3) and her visa approved before she can come to the US.

For a fiancee, a K-1 Visa is required. It is usually required that both parties have met in person and present evidence. However, there are several exceptions to this requirement.

Becasue I have never met anyone who has  gotten married and was leaving the next day for the US . I have heard that they have gone to Bogota for a few weeks and then had permission to leave .

didn't mean to ruffle your feathers , why would I want to do that ?????

What are you saying ? You mean I can't bring her right back with me to Canada after the Wedding ? That is a drag.. jajaajajajajaja

That would be nice to bring her right back but even if I could I would not. I would have to give her time to say good bye to her family.

Merry Xmas to everyone ..

Singlefather,
I am sure you would love to put her in your suitcase and take her home with you. I wish the best of luck!!

Nice surprise to hear from you the other night when I was in Tampa. Always great talking with you and I truly wish you all the best with you and Roxy. You both are lucky to have found each other and for your children as well. I look forward to meeting up someday soon and as well to hear all about your wedding and your children's thoughts on Peru.
