Long Time Lurker Intro
« on: September 26, 2008, 05:28:31 AM »
I've mostly been a lurker here, but have been posting more so I thought an intro was in order.  I live in the NY metro area so have dated several Latinas.  My work has not allowed me to travel down there much, but with all the economic turmoil I may find myself unemployed for an extended period and may take some time down there.  I was thinking of retiring down there as well.  My company maintains several offices down there so I may be able to get a transfer longer term if things at least stabilize at some point soon.  While I certainly like the women, my interest was initially professional.  I am an investment analyst (mostly junk bonds and equities) and I think longer term there will be more growth and opportunities there.  This board has been helpful to gain an understanding of what an important aspect of life is like there.  It's also been illuminating as to the differences in culture and women.  It seems there are significantly more than investment opprotunities there!  An added bonus and something to look forward to!

ThanksDennis.  Congrats on the new job.  Great gig.  Bogota is on my short list given that it is a center of commerce and has a lot of educated people.

Yeah...I think there are tons of Dollars coming into Colombia right now.  I usually have experienced Moneygram transactions which took about 5 minutes to complete.  But recently sent money there and was over an hour to wait!  They gave me the excuse that too much money coming into Colombia right now from the States.

Interesting.  It's one of the last places for cheap labor which has been appealing to many manufacturers needing a place that is closer to the US.  Seems it has been developing somewhat of a consumer market in its own right.  I think there are opportunities down there for analysts, but greatly broaden my options if I improved my Spanish.  I know there are opprtunities down there for high net worth financial planners as well.
