Ramgoat

I've only been to Colombia, but I know there was a poster here named BrazilPro who spent time in both countries.  It's interesting to note that despite his name he seemed to stop visiting Brazil after he visited Colombia.  Colombia is the center of the foreign bride universe (in the Western Hemisphere) and the women there are hot (as they also are in Brazil).

I used agencies because I could only afford to spend about one week on each trip, and at that time (1999-2002) the women in Latin America didn't have as much Internet access.  Now if I was looking I would first try the online dating sites like Amigos.com and see how many women I could line up (in one city) that way.  However, I did very much enjoy staying in the on-site bedrooms at the two agencies I used in Cali and getting to meet the other men there and seeing the other women coming through the agencies.

Hey Ramgoat!

I like agencies. Agencies are great for meeting women and saving you time.  I am happy I don't have to be standing around bars trying to look cool to meet a babe in Colombia because I think I would be standing for a long long time!  With agencies they normally set up dates to meet women that you select off of their website.  Agencies also normally can set you up with a good place to stay, often times it is in their 'house'.  Even a lot of the old pro's use agencies because of the convience of what they can offer.

How did you know that BrazilPro became Caligula?  Have any other names changed?  I'm all about freedom (being a Libertarian) but it's very confusing for online forums if the members change names frequently.  The only good reason I can see to do that is because you don't want people to know who you are.  I was anonymouse here about 2001 for a few weeks (I thought that was cute) but other than that I've always been Dallas Steve.

I went to ACG in 2002 and I liked it so much that I went back a second time.  It may have changed since then, but if Ricardo is still the owner I would give him another try if I was ever in Cali again.  In fact, I think he may have saved my life.  He warned me about my wife's ex-boyfriend who came to the street where the agency was looking for me one night.  The night watchman said he brought a gun with him.  That's not good news in Colombia.

As an agency they have a reputation to having a lot of beautiful, young (maybe flakey) women.  Hey, the customers want beautiful, young women so that's what Ricardo provides.

Steve

The worst thing about ACG... the secretary (now sacked) did not do very good job.   I asked her to contact only 8 girls before I arrived.  She said she had contacted them and made the appointment.  When I arrived, NOTHING at all.  In fact she did not make any appointment at all.  I was being lied to.  I only had 4 appointments in whole week !!!

2 out of 3 parties were cancelled !!!

From my experience ACG is only OK. I do like Ricardo and his brother is cool but it was always hit and miss with them.   *Unapproved Link* will work harder to keep you active with women but their selection isn't too impressive.

Why is CC now 'Unapproved link' when ACG is approved ??????????????

Speaking of beautiful, young women who look like they came from ACG, this photo just appeared on the left.  The photographer was apparently focused on the girl in the red dots, but I'd be after the triguena in the denim dress.  Does anybody know where she is?

[I apologize for the interruption]

She looks like one of Ricardo's ex-secretary, Maria Mercedes.  lol
She is carrying a Louis Vuitton purse !! Possible a fake one

I am married to an Asian and lots of our friends are mixed black/asian.  I can assure you that there are lots of ladies who give you a look.

The Bear Family

No offence but it is not suprised that you are married to an Asian woman, because of your age.  Many Asian women prefer to marry these men who are old enough to be their fathers or even grandfathers.

Ramgoat looks young to be 'Asian' wife.  I think he is better focusing on Latin women.

Can someone who has used an agency please describe your experience, and was it worth the money?  What agencies do you recommend?
Do you stay at the agency's bed and breakfast, or at a nearby hotel then on a daily basis meet many women?

We have a big archive of "trip reports" in the Latin section from various members who've used various agencies in various cities in (mainly) Colombia, but a few other countries as well I think.   Just about all of the guys give good detailed reports.  You should check it out and I am quite sure it will more than answer your question.

Catz, that seems awful strange to us posters who are just relaying our experience with an agency.  We know nothing of any conflict between PL and CC.  It does not appear right to me that PL would bar posters from mentioning their experiences with a particular agency because that is good information for newbies & veterans too.

Hey Sean123! :D

I don't know that it is 'overly' curious to want to know why one agency can be recommended and another can't but either way I will PM Dan to satisfy my curiosity.  In my opinion this is a major problem that should be worked out between CC and PL but should not involve editing the posts of posters that have nothing to do with the 'issue'.  Us silly & out of the loop posters should be left to spout our opinions because the information is genuine and that is what will be most important to fellow posters that are simply seeking out the truth!
I will remain open that there is some large factoid that I am not privy to, but on the surface, the editing of harmless posters posts appears to be..........

Such mixed couples are very common among Filipinas and Japanese women because of the presence of the U.S. military.  As long as you are black American, you should have little trouble finding prospective candidates.  But ultimately you have to follow your heart to the culture that appeals most to you.  If the idea of kare-kare washed down with a durian shake, or raw sliced tuna belly meat on vinegar rice with a  happoshu chaser doesn't appeal to you, Latin America might be a better option anyway.

Wasn't this thread was about Ramgoat and his questions!

Ramgoat, race is an enormous issue in South America.

There is a stereotype that Brazil is one happy melting pot, and part of it is true, its a melting pot. But for example, Salvador, a city 3,000,000, (the city closest to West Africa and the most African of large Brazilian cities ) is still governed and dominated by the white minority of 10%.

In a city like Bogota, Colombia, many triguenas (if they date foreign men) prefer to date Caucasians.

If you decide to go to SA, think about choosing a city where you are accepted for who you are. Recently on the Internet, an American black man wrote a fascinating post about his experiences in Baranqulla, Colombia, and got a lot of responses. You may want to correspond or /talk with him.  If you want to send me a private message, I will give you the link.

Have a good day.

Hey UKCaliumbo,

I have also found that if you have enough quid, many Latinas have no problem marrying "men who are old enough to be their fathers or even grandfathers". Asians usually will accept a broader age range, without the need for vast quantities of quid. Many Asians are actually in their 40's, 50's, and beyond, but still look like they are in their 20's or 30's. I have made that mistake MANY times with Filipinas and other Asians. I know several Asians that are older than their husbands, but I always thought the men were 15-20 years older. My wife is 35, but many people here think she is still a teenager. She always pays the student rate at the movies, and at Disney ( "Child 3-9"), without us saying a word. Man, that is scary!!! ;D  ;D ;D Her mother is 60, but most people think that she is my wife's "ate" or older sister. Ramgoat can go to Asia now...or go later like I did.  ;D ;D ;D

Hey DS,

I can just tell it is BP by the redundent writing style, the margins of his paragraphs and the subject matter. It's a lock.
Stan is Fuzzyone but will never never ever admit it!  I always thought Muscadet was Blockbuster here, but I could be wrong on that one.  Heat is Son of Heat here, and I do somehow miss talking with that goofball, but he only has been here once to talk about his stock picks.

Hey Dennis, thanks for the information.  I actually would like that link, i'm curious to hear about that guys experience.

Although I'm quite confident that no matter where I am, I can meet women of all races and cultures that will like, I am still curious on what to expect.  It's ashame that in todays times one still has to think about such insignificant things such as ethnicity when it comes to love, but the world is full of misinformed people that are so use to following the norm of their culture that they are blinded by the fact that there is really only one race, with many different shades and texture.  Anyway, I love all women, especially latin women so I definately plan on head south within the upcoming year.  Thanks for any information you can provide.

unfortunately racism is an issue in latin america. colombia is unique in that the definition of black varies from person to person and their black population is larger in numbers and percentage than any other la country other than brazil. the basisi for this racism is different though. skin color, money and success are usually synonymous. in other words, with a few exceptions including but not limited to professional athletes, it is not your colour that is the issue, its simply that their aspirirations of a better life are not embodied in what they consider the image of a "better life".

however, when they meet a black gringo/foreigner who is "of means" and educated they are surprised and may open themselves to new possibilities and perceptions. what denis said about bogota is true... medellin less so? as you move north toward the coast (cartagena, barranquilla, etc.) the black colombian population percentage increases and hence people are more accepting of your skin colour.

the good news is that you only need one special woman.. and colombia is full of them.. they are everywhere. with your accent, you will certainly be considered exotic. good luck.

Hey Ramgoat,

Too bad you are not interested in blond haired, blue eyed ladies. A black friend of mine was in Germany while in the Army. He never wanted to come home! You know what they say, "opposites attract." I'm thinking Heidi Klum here...   ;D

Good Luck in Colombia!
