Yeah, I gotta agree with you. They do look kinda sluty/whorish. Not that I dislike sluty/whorish mind you , just probably don't need to be on the site. It does send a mixed message.

 However, I've also always disliked the name of PL and this one too. Also using the term, "mail order bride" is SO tacky. The home page of this site even has a link right at the top says, "Order brides".

 I mean I met my wife while living in the PI, but other people met online, (like my brother and Sis in law) amd this "mail order" stuff just perpetuates the stereotype.

 Well, it's up to the site owners. I don't care, I'm just a baord member.

 Kinda hard to bring this site up on the computer at work, people look at ya wierd.  :shock:

I got to agree that the women on top is a little tactless.  Sure, everybody likes to look at hot chicks, but I think we all know the sites to visit if we want to take a peek.

And the term "mail order bride" is definately a term that should be abolished on this site and other simular sites.  Maybe using a term like "The guide to finding foreign love" would work or something else.  But I'm sure its only there to get more appearances in search engines.  Don't know why though since there's no advertising on the site really.

I agree, this MOB stereotype will never go away if the terms don't change.

Even on FOX News last night, O'Reilly did a spot on MOBs ("The MOB business is booming"), calling them MOBs and expressing concern for the women who come over on the 90 day K-1, how vulnerable they are to sleezeballs who just want to use them for a while and then not marry them.  I suppose that does happen once in a while but on the other hand, why would anybody go through all that trouble just for 3 months of whatever?

There was no mention of the legitimate side of the business, no guest to present the positive side.  I like Bill O'Reilly but I've never seen him so ignorant on an issue before.

 I wonder where they get this load of B. S. :evil:  With the support system most Filipino's have once they get here someone would find out about any abuse in short order.  What I hear on the news is usually Russian or Chinese. Most of the time they are tricked by their own people in to being a sex slave.

 I'm light years from my experiences in Angeles in the  '80's & '90's, but sweaty tits were never a problem for me, as best as I can remember.

 Despite what you hear, and read, there are some really good people in Angeles, Bar girls included.

 I think the young lawyer dude ought to go there and get it all out of his system first. However, that's just me.

 My son in law just came back from the 6 week trip with my wife and daughter. Poor bastard. This is his third trip in 2 years. After his first time, I said laughing, "I'll bet ya didn't know there was a whole country full of April's", (my step-daughter). He laughed and said, "yeah". Then I said, "bet you wish you went to Angeles first, huh?". He laughed and didn't say much, but that he kinda wouldn't have minded going there when he was single, at least once. He said he thought it would be more fun for drunks, like me. I told him that he was right, the partying with the foriegners is 70% of the fun.

 I have no use for the place anymore, but have some of the best memories of my life there.

 I'm still a Manila Boy at heart, though, always will be. Miss the hell out of Manila.

I think the "sluts" are totally inappropriate for this site, and simply help the "all foreign marriages are exploitive" crowd.  If I want porn, (which, admittedly, sometimes I do), I know where to go get it.  I thought this was SUPPOSED to be a place to discuss MARRIAGE!

Ummm.... I've always considered myself intelligent and well educated, but I only understood the first 2 lines of this. Please try again.

 What I meant, is go to Angeles City, spend a couple of weeks or months preferably, hanging out, meeting local ex-Pats, barhopping and getting all those fantasies you ever had that included Asian chicks out of your system.Just blow your wad, so to speak. That way they are gone when you are married, your eye isn't wandering. Not to say it would, but this expels all that youthful horniness, and puts you an the level of a Gent that's ready to be married and please one woman. No [snip], I mean it.

 However, on a more serious note, I believe Chinese or Japanese women would better suite you. Filipina's are generaly into God, so you'll probably strike out there. If you found one that wasn't into God, she'd be a real Filipina head case bitch, of the variety you REALLY wouldn't want to deal with. Been there, done that.

 However, I warn you, if you went to Angeles City, you will never be the same. Your life will be drastically changed forever. In exactly what way? There are many. However, if I were you, I would do it. Beats (no pun intended) the hell out of porn,  and arrange to visit Hong Kong and Japan as well. Just to see the places. The people. TALK to the girls. Chinese and Japanese need culture study deeper than the Philippines, since the Philippines is similar to the U.S. in culture.


 Anyway, my advice in a nut shell. Go to Asia. Blow your mind in Angeles City. Have fun. Then get seious and go to H.K. (cool place), China, and Japan. See which you like best. They are very different.

Filipinas seem awfully sweet, but ya, the god thing is a killer. Really though, all beliefs end up being pretty much the same in the end: you either believe your beliefs answer all questions or they answer no questions.

I looked into Chinese girls a bit, messaged a few, talked to some friends. Couple of my friends say they had REALLY bad experiences with Chinese girls before, but wouldn't go into a lot of detail (understandably). Something about cultural differences. Personally, I got utterly reamed by this Chinese girl for not signing my e-mail to her hahahaha...that's a little on the touchy side for someone like me.

Japanese girls always a possibility, and I could take a quick refresher on it (studied it in high school and college). It's damn expensive anywhere near the big cities though from what I understand.

Japan isn't that expensive any more. It sure was back in the late 1980s, but when the economy tanked in the early 90s there, quite a few prices went down, then held steady while things rose elsewhere. It's recovering now. I spent two weeks in downtown Tokyo last May. It wasn't any more expensive than most big cities in the world, and a lot less than much of Europe these days. Yes, you can spend big money in fancy restaurants and buying imported brand name goods, but if you do things Japanese, you'll be surprised - Breakfast or lunch $8 to $12 isn't what I'd call pricey these days. Waffle House it ain't, but compared to San Francisco, New York, or Chicago, that's not out of line. Go to small towns and things are cheaper yet. The smaller cities and towns abound with Ryokans (inns) and minshukus (guest houses) that cost between 6,000 & 12,000 yen ($50-$110.) Remember that includes breakfast and dinner.  Add lunch and transportation and you're talking about less than $200 a day. I usually spend more than that in Mexico.

Japanese girls have a lot going on compared to many other places. You probably won't have to teach her how to drive, how to run finances, save money,  lots of other skills missing in many third world places. She'll fit in easier, too and adapt to your lifestyle much faster. You will probably have a language problem, though, more so than if you find a nice Filipina.

Ahhh..looking at how much a train pass costs now it doesn't seem that bad. I swear last time I looked (4 or 5 years ago?) it was something like $700 for a pretty short period of time. Maybe my memory is going bad.

Ya, I suppose it's not much more or maybe a little less than your typical tourist destination, but quite a bit more expensive than a 3rd world country.
