Sounds like a very slimy agency. Jamie was still pimping out Jhornys even though she was engaged to a previous client.

Where did you learn to read?  The agency told him that she was unavailable.

Get a job doing what?? she couldn't even speak English.

Zapata this was when she was in Colombia he wanted her to get a job in Colombia. Since her salary was so low he should have fully supported her and had her work full time learning English and preparing herself for the upcoming changes. I personally believe with the right support (more so than what most Colombian women would need) she could have developed into a fine wife. On the outside she had a very happy, positive personality. Excessive jealousy and anger can be cured. Proper counseling would have made her a stable person she was young enough for such change.

Quote
and you're defending this guy?? he's a dumb a**...

Steve acknowledges he made mistakes. I am not defending those mistakes. But the “dumb” things he did are typical of what many men have done. Again I feel his intentions were good. It is common for most men to do things in their own way without any involvement from others when it comes to women.

Quote
…getting her the psychological help she needs.

I agree with this but I certainly do not think he is a loser. He is supporting her but I do feel with her raising a child on her own that she will have a child that will have his own set of problems from all of this. Understand that the writer of this article determined what facts he used and what facts were left out. I think most would agree that the writer appears to be biased against find wives in this manner and he may have been biased in his portrayal of Steve.

Quote
This guy totally lost me with his "boning" remark at the end of the article.

I understand the reasons for your assessment.

Quote
This guy simply fits what I would call a fairly accurate stereotype of guys looking for way young hot chicas instead of someone a little older and mature with some character.

I do not think this guy fits that description.  She was 16 years younger than him and he is in good shape, above average looking and contemporary. Such an age range on its own is not in the danger range.

Jamie,

First off, I don't think the guy wanted to support her at all when she was in Colombia.  He wanted a young hot sex machine (I think he was quoted on this +/- in the article).  He wanted to get her to the US as fast as possible to enjoy this young hot sex machine.

Secondly, I don't think his mistakes are "typical" at all.  Knocking a girl up and shipping her back to colombia is TYPICAL??  Please Jamie...I think "typical" is more like, maybe marrying within the 90 days, or maybe making several trips back to Colombia to romance her, or if things don't work out, send her back & end the relationship...Steve's story is far from typical, and you of all people should know that.  STeve is a dumb-a** so quit trying to sugar coat him.  He ruined a poor girl's life (and a child's) for God's sake...

Thirdly, the guy is a LOSER...How many trips does he have planned to visit Roxi and support her during her pregancy or during her labor (if she hasn't already had the baby at this writing)???...what plans does he have to be involved in the child's future (besides sending a couple of hundred bucks every few months)...my guess is the guy has no plans...if he had any class he'd buy an apartment for her and visit her every few months and try to mend what he has broken.  but that will NEVER happen because this guy is a LOSER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do not believe he said he wanted this but that she was this.

Agree that is not typical I was referring to his other errors while she was in Colombia.

They are both adults and share responsibilities for what has happened. I would certainly agree that he is responsible for most of what occurred. But I also know when some of these women act extremely childishly and emotionally that it can put one over the edge of wanting to deal or be involved with them in any manner.

I do not know what the future holds in terms of what they will do and I can see why you would judge him as a “loser” but just as I provide important information that was not in the article I suspect there was more relevant information left out of the story that would give a clear picture of who and how one should be labeled.

Jamie,

I appreciate your replies to my posts, and of course you know this guy better than I, but I am willing to bet that he will NEVER be an important part of the child's life, and after some time Roxi and the child will never hear from him again.  I hope I'm dead wrong, but I would bet a small fortune that I'm right.

I think Jamie can control the situation only to a point. If the guys that he works with do not want to listen then alot of times it ends up wrong. How many guys here get their girl friends pregant and neve see the child or are in their lives? I am not really sticking up for the guy because part of this is his fault he should have tried to deal with it differently then he did.

About Jamie I think he really does care if he did not he would not waste his time here, but as I have said if the guy does not listen to what he suggest then who's fault is it? I don't think it is Jamies!!

Fuzzy, NO WHERE in my posts did I suggest anything was Jamie's fault, however I have a problem with Jamie's defense of this "character"...and I must respectfully disagree with you and Jamie regarding the sharing of the blame for the pregnancy.  I believe more of the blame should go to Steve in this case.  Here is a worldly 38 year old guy who brings a 22 year old hot sex machine to the States...He should have done EVERYTHING under his power to make sure she didn't get pregnant.  It was HIS responsibility, unless of course the 22 year sex machine somehow raped Steve, then it would be a different story.

So, now let's see how Steve reacts to his newfound fatherhood.  Only time will tell as to what level of LOSER he really is.

Hold on. Jaimy is not wasting his time here and there's not one iota of altruism in his efforts. He is trolling for clients pure and simple. Did you know that the moment PoorButHappy told him he couldn't post his advertising blurb with every post he dropped that site like a hot potato...well after crying about it for a few posts. You seeing getting that blurb out with every post gets it way up there on the search engines.

very interesting Ken, I didn't know that Jamie quit posting on Poorbuthappy when they denied his use of his website in his signature, but then again I haven't logged on there for awhile.  Maybe Jamie can respond why he is denying PBH his great wisdom and is sharing it here...after all, PHB is larger than this board and most others combined.  Surely more readers would benefit from his participation there.

I read just fine.  Reread the article.  This slimeball agency owner - Jamie - arranged a date between the two of them even though Jhornys was already engaged to a previous client.  The author very clearly insinuates that the date led to Jhornys cheating on her future husband.  Jamie was still pimping out Jhornys even though she was already engaged.

I agree with the posters that think Jamie is slime.  He is unethical and a shameless self-promoter.  S-L-I-M-E.

after reading the article.I was obviously surprised by Mr. Baillie's choice of words. i do think the story is short and based on the writers view and a bit sensational. with the input of Mr. Baillie. Did she know he was doing this story? was she told by the writer this was a concept., the times he saw them happily at the house? does she know at this point he was just writing a story? has she seen? what does she think now?

Actually, it has no effect whatsoever.  These forums are excluded from search engines by a special file that they access when indexing a site.  If I didn't do that, it could put a very heavy load on the server when the site is indexed.  Every page loaded in the forums involves a data base transaction and the robots that index pages request them at a far greater rate than a human would.

You can allow or disallow search engine indexing of any part of a web site.  I was writing about Goodwife.com specifically when I said the forum's not indexed.

Ken I only wish I had time to be trolling for clients because I certainly would be if I had the time and wasn’t excessively busy. However, most of my clients from the forums use me based on what other people say not what I say. I only wish I had the pulling power you think I do PM me if you have any ideas on how I can do this.

As for PBH I was posting there for six months utilizing the signature format the forum provides to indicate my business. This is typical of almost all forums on any subject and it is not consider advertising. On PBH I never initiated any post regarding my business. However, immediately after I publicly criticized the European owner for appointing a moderator I did not think highly of my signature becomes a mater of concern.  Part of what I said:

"I believe all forums should have a fair minded, rational moderator. But for Lionheart who has done his share of running from the questions and can throw out blatant falsehoods such as "US Americans can only think black or white. They have no clue about grey zones." And his own form of peacemaking: "God, people, don't be so dense…” for this to be moderator material is a joke. But of course I hear so often from our Liberal friends that Europeans to our shame think of Americans as a joke so I guess this all fits in line."

Ken my time is valuable I don’t mind sharing my experiences but my time is not free. It is not possible for me to write on all the related forums so those that allow me to define what I do get my insight those that don’t won’t.  For those that don’t know PBH is a very socialist, liberal leaning, Colombia flag waving forum where capitalist endeavors are frowned upon. Ken the only thing I can say is I am sorry that you miss me on PBH.
Maybe this will bring back some of the fond memories you have of me, here is one of my golden oldies from PBH:

Colombia is a very, very dangerous place.

It was late at night and the streets were empty as I made by way down the sidewalks of the commercial district. The cooling breeze off the Caribbean was bringing me the favorable scent of a large plumeria as I approached the dark corner of an old, overgrown residential mansion. I was enjoying the perfumes and comfortable temperature of my late walk with barley a flicker of concern for my safety when the unmistakable break in the silence brought a chill to my back. This was not the sounds of leafs fluttering in the trees I knew I was being stalked. I knew I had to be careful with every upcoming moment or pay the consequence from one or more attackers. I tried to listen to the distance of the approaching danger and whether to fight back or run. But I knew running would only delay the inevitable. The more I thought the more I realized I was wasting precious time to act. I quickly turned around to challenge my predator when I felt a sharp stink on my neck... it was too late, as I brought my hand up in defense I realized the futility of a strike would not erase the pain that I would have to endure. I was defeated. A walk in the dark was met by those that prey in the night. I had no one to blame accept for myself I had lost, and the blood thirsty Colombian mosquito had won.

As an agency, Jaime is just a facilitator.  He can't control what two adults do.  Steve showed his true colors when he inquired about this Jhorny girl and was flatly informed by the agency's assistant that she was taken.  He continued to inquire and press the issue.  I don't feel that you can blame the agency.

From the people that I have spoken to, I have only heard positive things about Jamie's agency with no negatives.  These were people that actually used his services.  In my dealings with Jamie, I found him to be candid in our dealings.  This is one of the main reasons for my choosing his agency.  I will be personally using his agency next week, and I will report back on my personal experience.
