I guess the whacko jihadists didn't like the fact that the pope himself baptized him in St. Peter's Square on Easter Sunday. The guy was a very prominent Muslim.

I also saw a news story yesterday where a record number of Muslims are converting to Catholics in Iraq. More heads to lop off I quess...

Ray & pan,
I don't know if you saw this yet, but a member of the Dutch Parliament is releasing a short film about Islam and the Muslims in the Middle East are going NUTS.  He claims that Islam is actually an extremist religion and that radicalism is the norm not the exception.  Death threats galore for this guy, but an important topic.  The film is short and is suppose to be released on the internet at some point.  If it is ever translated it would be worth watching.  Remember, this is where Van Gogh's grandson (or great grandson) was killed (stabbed) by a muslim for his comments about Islam.

I read that Hispanics are the largest group converting to Islam in the US. You are starting to see quite a few Latinas wearing Muslim head sarfs and clothing here in S. FL...usually fat and/or ugly ones. I guess it is the only way that they can get noticed. My Colombiana neighbor, who fits the above description, is doing it as well because her Muslim boyfriend has big pesos! I am still waiting for her Marielito husband to find out and pull a "Scarface!" "Say hello to my little friend!"

Well, the muslims almost burned all the cars last year in Paris.  Now it is Holland's turn.

Dave,
Here is a news article saying that Mexico is now the 2nd fattest country in the world behind the US and they are on track to pass us.  Now I must admit that I have started working out again to lose weight.  So losing the title may be partially my fault, but I'll just have to live with that.   ;)

Gotta wonder how much of America's fat is actually Mexican. I know here in OR, there was an article a bit back about hispanics having an extremely high overweight/obesity rate compared to other ethnicities. Seems like all the Mexican moms I see are pretty large.

As a side-note, I've read at a few places that some Asian countries might actually have a higher rate of overweight/obese than America, if you look at percent body fat. A lot of Asians have a smaller frame and less muscle, so they have a smaller BMI, but actually a high percent body fat. I've chatted with a few Asian girls who claim they can only walk 15-30 minutes at a time. That sounds like fat to me.

Hi jm21-2,

I think Southeast Asians tend to be small framed. I'm not sure where the fat ones are. But I haven't seen too many fat ladies in the Philippines. Usually the only ones that are fat have money, which is not very common. Not too many gyms or health clubs outside of the big cities...except for playing badminton. I've yet to see a tanning salon, but no doubt one must exist somewhere.  ;D Some Filipinas and Asians do get fat in the West because of the increased availability of calorie dense food and fast food. In the Philippines cheap transportation is everywhere. You can't walk 2 feet without several jeepneys, multicabs, tricycles, trimotors, or tricycads trying to pick you up. My wife's sister weighed less than 90lbs. (my wife 95 lbs.), but we almost killed her walking around Disney World, because she wasn't used to walking.  ;D

I have never been there, but if the Philippines (and other SE Asian countries) are like Florida I would take some sort of transportation over walking too.  When I lived in FL, we would sweat just walking the dogs every day because it was sooooooooo humid.  They didn't want to go too far either considering they have thick fur coats.

Hi xcited,

I often ride my mountain bike around town or to the bundok. Filipinos usually look at me like I am nuts, then smile and call out "Hey Joe!" It's unusual to see a Kano walking or riding a bike. They are usually sweating their aces off, "roughing" it on a jeepney or tricycle or relaxing comfortably in an aircon cab. I go out early in the morning or early evening to avoid the heat and enjoy the cool mountain or sea breezes. Bagio, in the northern Philippines, has beautiful cool weather.

I must admit, that I would agree with them.   :D

I was told that Bagio is considered the Summer Capital of the Philippens and the President goes to "The Mansion" for quite a while over the warmer months.  The mountains would be a nice change, but they can always go to the beach to cool off I guess.

Back on Topic.

Here is the link to the movie made by the Dutch Politician (English version) about the Koran and Islam.  Be aware that this has very graphic video of actual terrorist attacks including the World Trade Center.  This is amazing and something EVERYONE should watch.  When you see how many people are cheering these radical clerics it will send a chill down your spine.  This is what we are dealing with!!

re: short film "Fitna"

I watched it...very well done...I wonder if Fox News - Hannity & Combs or Bill O will put Rev. Wright on the backburrner and put this film on the front burner this week.

Rev. Wright will be the gift that keeps on giving all the way thru November!
