So not to crash the other thread i shall answer Block's inquiries here.

I finally made some headway today con la esposa muy intensa y imposible. I took my brother's advice. I think i've been trying too hard to manage her. My brother suggested i not provide her with answers, but just shut up and listen, basically. Women do not want you to solve their problems, he says, they merely want to tell you them. It worked. After an hour of me holding back on things i'd usually push at her she began to restate my desires all on her own. We communicated. Up til now, she's been wanting to extend her stay in Baq. Instead, she announced quite candidly that she misses me.

Good luck!  This definitely sounds promising.  I've been rather amazed at how some advice I've gotten has worked.  You just never know.
