I did it
« on: December 16, 2007, 11:45:24 AM »
I got married yesterday. Wow, I can't believe it. It may not be a big deal to some people but for a man who has been single for 42 years like myself it is quite a big step. I am happy about being married (and who I married) but there will always be a small part of me that will miss being single. I guess that is a normal feeling for most men entering marriage for the first time.

I must have broke a record for the cheapest wedding of all time (besides the Vegas drive-thru weddings or courthouse weddings). The total cost- $900.00, including flowers, candles, wedding cake, tux and the wedding dress. Actually everything looked very nice and one would think that it cost a lot more. I would rather have a cheap wedding with a magnificent honeymoon than the other way around. Maybe we'll have a larger celebration down the road.

I will give a further update about everything when I have time.

Cheers,

Zack

Congrats.  Guess you didn't marry an AW.  You would have spent $9000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Singlefather- Thanks for your kind words. My wife is 33.

Bigstew33- lol She actually didn't want an expensive wedding. That attitude is hard to find with American women.

Congratulations Zack!! My wife made her dress and did a great job. Also she insisted on buying our wedding bands. She had them engraved with our names and dates on the inside.Mine has her name in it and hers has my name in it.

That seems to be the custom. Ours are like that too.

Thanks everyone for your kind words.
Patrick- we are going to Hawaii in February for one week- two days on the Big Island and five days in Maui. I normally don't stay in the most expensive hotels but honeymoons only come once in a lifetime so I said "what the hell". I decided to reserve a room at the best hotel in Maui, The Grand Wailea (Waldorf Astoria)

Congratulations!  Best of wishes to the both of you!
My little brother got his arm stuck in the microwave. So my mom had to take him to the hospital. My grandma dropped acid this morning, and she freaked out. She hijacked a busload of penguins. So it's sort of a family crisis.

Dan Las Vegas, Raycjs, bcc_1_2, Zoomastermo, Michealb, and Catz

Thanks for your kind comments!

bcc_1_2, just FYI- The hotel is on Maui, not Oahu. I agree about the room. It is already booked and is facing the ocean.

Cheers,

Zack
