Lets adopt mexican law provisions as our own, then.

It seems fair.

Then ENFORCE it. Or-better still, enforce what we have.

WE have certain laws and we DON'T enforce them......now, who is following a double standard?

Sure we enforce them.

Over, and over, and over, and over, and over again.

Quote
Subject: Information on Certain Illegal Aliens Arrested in the United States:

[...]

On April 7, 2005, we issued a report on criminal aliens that were incarcerated in federal and state prisons and local jails. Our report contained information on the number of criminal aliens incarcerated, their country of citizenship or country of birth, and the cost to incarcerate them. You also requested that we provide information on the criminal history of aliens incarcerated in federal and state prisons or local jails who had entered the country illegally.

[...]

[We] identified a population of 55,322 aliens that the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the Department of Homeland Security determined, based upon information in its immigration databases, had entered the country illegally and were still illegally in the country at the time of their incarceration in federal or state prison or local jail during fiscal year 2003. We then analyzed selected data contained in the criminal history record, commonly referred to as the rap sheet, of these illegal aliens maintained within the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS).

Results:

In summary, for our study population of 55,322 illegal aliens, we found that:

* They were arrested at least a total of 459,614 times, averaging about 8 arrests per illegal alien. Nearly all had more than 1 arrest. Thirty-eight percent (about 21,000) had between 2 and 5 arrests, 32 percent (about 18,000) had between 6 and 10 arrests, and 26 percent (about 15,000) had 11 or more arrests. Most of the arrests occurred after 1990.

* They were arrested for a total of about 700,000 criminal offenses, averaging about 13 offenses per illegal alien. One arrest incident may include multiple offenses, a fact that explains why there are nearly one and half times more offenses than arrests.[Footnote 6] Almost all of these illegal aliens were arrested for more than 1 offense. Slightly more than half of the 55,322 illegal aliens had between 2 and 10 offenses. About 45 percent of all offenses were drug or immigration offenses. About 15 percent were property-related offenses such as burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and property damage. About 12 percent were for violent offenses such as murder, robbery, assault, and sex-related crimes. The balance was for such other offenses as traffic violations, including driving under the influence; fraud--including forgery and counterfeiting; weapons violations; and obstruction of justice.

* Eighty percent of all arrests occurred in three states--California, Texas, and Arizona. Specifically, about 58 percent of all arrests occurred in California, 14 percent in Texas, and 8 percent in Arizona.

[...]

Briefing for Congressional Requesters:
April 2005:

Introduction:

In April 2005, we issued a report, Information on Criminal Aliens Incarcerated in Federal and State Prisons and Local Jails, (GAO-05-337R). This report contained information on the number of criminal aliens we identified that were incarcerated, their country of citizenship or country of birth, and the cost to incarcerate them.

You also requested that we provide information on the criminal history of aliens incarcerated in federal and state prisons or local jails who had entered the country illegally.

[...]

Results in Brief: How many arrests did these illegal aliens have?

For our study population of 55,322 illegal aliens:

* They were arrested at least a total of 459,614 times, averaging about 8 arrests per illegal alien.

* Ninety-seven percent had more than 1 arrest. About 38 percent had between 2 and 5 arrests, 32 percent had between 6 and 10 arrests, and 26 percent had over 11 arrests.

* Eighty-one percent of all arrests occurred after 1990.

* They were arrested for at least a total of nearly 700,000 criminal offenses, averaging 13 offenses per alien.

* About 24 percent were drug offenses.

* About 21 percent were immigration offenses.

* About 15 percent were property-related offenses such as burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and property damage.

* About 12 percent were for murder, robbery, assault, and sexually
related crimes.

* The remaining 28 percent were for other offenses such as traffic violations, including driving under the influence; fraud—including forgery and counterfeiting; weapons violations; and obstruction of justice.

Inmates incarcerated in federal prison on December 27, 2003: 46,063;

For the America-second crowd, a formula for immigration reform:

Legalize those illegals presently in the U.S.--regardless of any criminal record they may have back in their home country. (Only a dumb or lazy criminal would stay in Mexico, right?) Second, enforce the law. (As if no one has been trying ;D; see document above). Finally--and most importantly--do not racial profile once the border jumper reaches a dozen or so miles inland. Identify and deport them only after they've been picked up for committing a "real" crime.  Repeat ad infinitum.

For the America-first crowd, a great essay by Selwyn Duke:

Courses available this semester to PL members majoring in the Amnesty Arts:

  • Ted 101 (One credit)
  • Déjà Vodoo in Politics (Three credits)

Your instructor:

If you have questions about the material, or if you just wanna party, Ted can be reached by telephone at (202) 224-4543, or via his website at http://kennedy.senate.gov/senator/contact.cfm.

Per the course outline, the student will learn the importance of whitewashing certain elements of the Amnesty trade so as to remain a devoted party member (as well as to receive a passing grade). For instance:

Ted, the most famous C student ever to attend Harvard, was the chief architect and advocate of the 1965 Immigration and Nationalities Act...
http://donkeycons.blogspot.com/2006/04/compromise-with-kennedy.html

Today it is astonishing to read the categorical assurances given by the 1965 Immigration Act's supporters. "What the bill will not do," summarized its floor manager, Immigration Subcommittee chairman Senator Edward Kennedy (D.-Mass.):

"First, our cities will not be flooded [Hiccup!] with a million immigrants annually. Under the proposed bill, the present level [Hiccup!] of immigration remains substantially the same. . . . Secondly [Hiccup!], the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset. . . . Contrary to the charges [Hiccup!] in some quarters, [the bill] will not inundate America with immigrants from any one [Hiccup!] country or area, or the most populated and deprived nations of Africa and Asia. . . . In the final analysis, the ethnic [Hiccup!] pattern of immigration under the proposed [Hiccup!] measure is not expected to change as sharply as the critics seem to think. [Hiccup! Hiccup!]"

Every one of Senator Kennedy's assurances has proved false.

http://www.hoover.org/publications/digest/3523861.html

The textbook--From Uncle Sam to Tío Ted--is available at the campus bookstore for $19.65.

Bush the greatest Democratic Party President in History

Farmer food subsidies that Clinton couldn't get passed passes at 1/10 that size.

New medical subscription subsidies that are and will continue to be changed so that they become a "right" of the American people to get free medicine and an incredible financial debt to our country.

Now a all-out-effort strengthen Democratic voters by giving illegals status while Democrats in most states are stopping efforts to identify voters and simultaneously weakening the middle-class Americans finances and enhancing businesses - turning more citizens to side with democrats.

Doing all this while hiding behind a strategically planned failed war effort that makes Republicans look irresponsible and thoughtless towards the citizens of this country.

How do I know?

When asked about why he would support the immigration bill he said that it was written by our country's greatest senator, Kennedy.  And in our past he honor Kennedy with an award from his fathers Library as our countries greatest senator.

and under his leadership not one single conservative issue has been been brought to law.

Odd when you ask a Democrat why they don't praise Bush as their greatest Party President they say its because he lied about WMD?  Yet this action he took has cripple Republicans who supported him.

God help us for ever electing this evil man.

Simple answer. Mexico

You're right if you mean that Mexico says "Ignore how we treat illegal immigrants in our country, when we come illegally to YOUR country, we expect to be treated with kid gloves"--that is indeed a double standard.

The double standard I was referring to was: Mexico says "You can't come into our country without permission, and even if you have permission to be here, here's a whole list of things you can't do".....and they really DON'T let you come without permission and really DON'T let you do those things.

The US says "You can't come into our country without permission (wink wink, nudge, nudge). Oh, you came anyway? Well here's a list of things you can't do (but we'll look the other way while you do them anyway), In fact, just to prove no hard feeling, we'll GIVE you stuff that our own citizens have to pay for"......granted, the US is starting to change (mostly due to a grass roots "mad as hell and not going to take it anymore" movement) and might one day actually enforce our immigration laws, but for the last 20 some odd years they haven't been enforcing them....hence the problem we have today.

Yep- MB you pegged most of the problem. The rest of the problem are the bribes-er, donations-that our elected officials receive to ignore the problem in favor of a few special "clients+-most of whom are not voters.

Well actually what I meant was I can't help the feeling we've been scammed by a well-thought out, well-executed scam.

Republicans locked in on a no-win war, no-win because no politician or the media will allow it.  Note the entire western propaganda machine has been against it from the beginning.  Now our allies one-by-one desert the field.  Public mood very down because media only reports negative.

Republicans seeing a massive growth in wealth wan on the tax cut - major issue of the conservative right while jacking up pork spending.

Both parties have "bad" guys but the media harps on the Republicans and says nothing about Democrats.  Two admitted and convicted criminals now hold the highest offices of the House of Representatives, the top is also the President of the Communist Party.

Clinton goes down several times on Food subsidies at a few hundred million, doesn't want to push it and hurt his image and drops it.  Bush passes it as hundred times bigger and shocked Republicans say and do nothing.

President almost puts a liberal into the Supreme Court and Congress refuses to stand against violators of our Constitutional procedures.  Public outcry and Bush resends liberal nominee and nominates a conservative.  One Supreme court Justice actually makes a ruling using foreign law as precedent and not a single word is heard from congress, whitehouse or the socialist controlled media.

President make a minor attempt to end SS but make use the bully pulpit.  Issue dies of socialist propaganda and lack of conservative support.  The two countries who have passed such reforms are enjoying tremendous individual financial wealth and security.

Energy policy dies multiple deaths and environmentalist who are merely 1/4 of one % of this countries voting base stop us from being more self-sustaining.  Over 20 years of no new refinery construction has passed.  Substantial deficiencies in our power grids start coming to focus but Congress has met and closed 3 times with nearly nothing being done.  Environmentalist continue to block what little efforts come out.

Before 2006 election a poll is taken showing #1 issue is border security/immigration concerns.  Bush when confronted ignores questioners and pusses his Iraqi policy which is taken down conservative after conservative.  Winners are elected by not anti-war or anti-immigrant but voters who want something done that protects us and our rights and secures our countries borders and brings us respect.

Bush in a shocker acknowledges the wacko Global Warming Scam.  I still don't know what to say here!?

Bush supports foreigners owners our seaports, airports and out of nowhere he demands congress open our roads to foreign drivers who do not have to follow our vehicle inspections (but we still do). Note that Bushes minion who followed him in Texas as governor is forcing Texans to turn all toll roads over to a foreign company and also giving them exclusive rights over right-of-ways, access etc.  This says nothing about border agents being arrested for doing their jobs.  Hummm?  Will open boarders for foreign drivers mean they'll move "port of calls" further south costing even more jobs at ports here?

Now Bush seeing the end of his term wants to allow 30+ million illegal aliens to have legal status, no punishment for violating laws, business owners who hired them completely exonerated, the rest of us foot the bill while the situation raises our taxes, cut serves and puts downward stress on salaries.  Terrorist groups in Pakistan (home of bin Laden) reportedly have a party!  Those who have obeyed the law and followed the properprodeures will go to the end of the line and pay fees illegals won't because illegals don't have to do anything.

Conservatives and Christians are disenfranchised and dis-heartened by a 12 year control of all branches and not one single conservative issue is passed while tremendous socialist issues fly through unchecked.

Now tell me we haven't been scammed?!

The Bear Family.

You clean house by voting out the incumbents- no matter which party they are from.

Any politician who has been re-elected at least once should be voted out.

Well folks, things are looking bad for Shamnesty and the Illegal Alien Enablers. Let’s hope this dog is dead and stinking!

This piece of trash bill deserved to be flushed down the toilet where it belongs, along with Ted Kennedy and all the other turds.

I guess the politicians were actually forced to listen to what Americans think, instead of kowtowing to all those arrogant Illegal Aliens clogging the streets last year with their Mexican flags.

For George Bush, the whiny Democrats, the wimpy Republicans, and the lawyers who tried to convince us that this wasn’t really amnesty, it’s time to forget about what the Illegal Aliens want demand and start doing what’s good for America.

Let’s get that fence built, let’s enforce our borders, let’s see some employers of Illegal Aliens behind bars, and let’s see a serious effort to deport some of those 12-20 million before you dare bring up this stupid “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” idea again!

And a special message for Lindsay Graham:

Now we can all sleep better tonight…at least those of us who follow the law :-)

The kool-aid drinkers should all get together for their Jonestown reunion. The government should move to ENFORCE the existing employer sanctions provisions. A couple of employers forced out of business by the 10K per alien penalty should head things in the right directions.

BTW- it isnt over yet but it is looking very promising.

not quite...they will try to resurrect it later this summer....keep the pressure on, call your senators next week!  The Senate calender is getting full, if the bill can be blocked until the August recess, then it IS dead, till then the socialists and RINO/Wall Street Journal Republicans are going to still try to bring it back to life.  The House of Reps doesn't want to even vote on it, a lot of Dems got voted in promising to not allow amnesty.

Here's an excellent flash link of a couple minutes that summarizes where the two sides are;

One bright side to all this: Ted Kennedy is pushing 76. The linchpin may not be around long enough to give this another shot.

Thank you Mr. Bug for your support, but I must correct you on a couple of key points.

First, that photo you posted was actually of me during the recent immigration shamnesty bill debates where I was showing Senator Graham Cracker how long I thought the new border fence should be...yeah, about 4 inches ought to hold them suckers back…he! hic! he!

And for your information, I gave up Tequila a few years ago and went back to the old standby...scotch. After all, I still get a family discount...he! he! hic!

I found that it's best taken intravenously because it doesn't show up on my breath when the cops stop me...he! hic! he!

I'll also have you know that I don't intend to leave this planet anytime soon, so stand by for more stupid immigration bills from my desk. Hell, as long as those stupid voters back home in Massa...hic!...chusetts keep voting me in, I would be crazy to retire (or croak). I think I'll make a run on Strom Thurmond's record...hic! he! he!

Later gator,

Your pal Teddy (hic!)
