Hey guys, it's official....I'm engaged.   ;D  I am now an honorary member of Team Papi!  (Where's my T-Shirt?)

Great time in Cali (trip report to come in the next day or so). 

Spent three days at el Lago de Calima (www.lagocalima.net)....place is 100 times better than the pictures.  Very private, secluded, and safe.  Roughly 2 hours outside Cali (1 hour 15 minutes if you drive like a local).  If you want peace and quiet, this is the place to go.  Place is outstanding.  Same owner as www.calipenthouse.com

After 9 months of courting and two trips to Cali, I decided to pop the question and she said YES.  No date on a wedding.  After reading the "Marriage before/after K-1" post, it may be 6 - 8 months before a wedding happens.  Maybe a small one here in the states and then a big blow-out in Cali.  We will see. 

Once again, never felt threatened and I think Cali is pretty safe if you use your head.  Act normal (not like a tourist) and people just ignore you.  Well, except for the women, as they continue to eye-f*ck you every time you pass by.  I think it would be very difficult to be married in Cali, way to much temptation! I would be hand-in-hand with my girl and would still be looked at like I was Brad Pitt in the nude!  I love Cali!!!   ;D

Congratulations Bundy. Good job. Yes, Jim has some incredible places for sure in Cali and Lago. Did you stay at his penthouse also? Great job on decor there. Good luck with everything.

Thanks guys, I appreciate everyones support.  This has been a long and exhausting journey, but well worth it.  I haven't started the visa process, so I am sure my nerves will be worked again very soon. 

Our plan is to apply for the K-1 FIRST, have her come here and have a small private wedding (Beach Front, no family or friends, just the two of us and a minister), file for the extension, and then returning to Cali for the traditional church wedding and huge after-party.  I figured I might as well spend the money in Cali, it goes alot further there.  I do not have much family in the states and the little I do have will not travel to see me marry, so no big deal.  It means EVERYTHING to her family to see her get married, so I want to make her dreams come true.  Plus, all PL members will be invited in advance to the wedding/afterparty.  There will be plenty of her single friends running around that will definitely not disappoint you.  (Trust me, I've seen em' all in thongs)  :o

I appreciate all the advice, info, and tips from everyone on PL.  You made my lifelong dream a reality and I owe much of it to you guys. 

A special shout out to Papi.....He was the first guy on here who stepped up to the plate who helped me get to Cali, I owe you big-time!  I had numerous stupid questions and concerns, but he stuck with me and answered them all.  I hope to do the same for other guys on here. 

Here's to Papi....One hell of a guy!  Cheers!!   ;)

Good to see that you've taken your time...also I appreciate what seems to be your love of the culture and people of Cali, and haven't bought into the "Cali is so dangerous" mantra seen recently on this forum and others. (Yes, it is dangerous in places, but not for the "average" gringo)...

Regarding Papi, he takes alot of abuse, especially on another forum, but I don't see any of his critics stepping up to the plate and helping guys like you...

One last thing, be careful using the word "preacher" in your posts on this forum...I know a guy who was disciplined very harshly recently for doing so ::)...."(Beach Front, no family or friends, just the two of us and the preacher)"
