a keeper! (por fin)
« on: April 14, 2007, 08:28:09 AM »
Saludos de San Andres Island paradise. I am cordially delighted to formally announce the engagement of the future Sr. & Sra. Papi. The ring was officially presented in the air on Thursday as we descended to about 3000 feet over the crystal clear waters of San Andres (no, we did not join the mile high club). She rocks my world and a dream come true.

First of all, congats Papi.  Second of all, how long have you know her?  You haven't mentioned a "steady" lately.  I thought you were playing the field and had several on the line?

Hope it works out for you.   :)

Good Job Hero!!!!!

Have them play "your song"  (sung to the music from the theme to Shaft) as you enter the Church or office. ;D

I'm going to give her one of your fan club t-shirts as a bridal shower gift.

Congratulations Papi! Please post more pics, or email me some if you don't mind.
Best of luck and have fun in San Andres.

Zack

P.S. I have to ask you, why would you fly your woman to San Andres but give her the ring on the plane instead of on the beach or somewhere more romantic?

Best wishes, Papi!

Don't tease us with just the avatar, man, post some pics in the gallery!

In true Papi style, this has apparently come out of nowhere.  This is almost like one of those secret celebrity weddings that the media finds out after the fact!  Now all the "fun" begins with immigration...

Congrats.

The notaria in San Andres is widely considered to be the easiest notary in Colombia to marry in front of.

Good luck.

Thanks for the many warm wishes....I will write more later. In the meantime, I want to give special thanks to Latin Cupid for making it all happen and of course my lovely novia who is exciting, fun, smart and has the best ass in colombia in my humble opinion. Special mention goes to Pretty Boy, Soltero, President Bundy and his Optimist Club and last but not least Team Nutjob.  ;D

Papi

PS. If you would like Pics of the happy couple, please PM me with your Email and Fan club membership number. That goes for you too Soltero - I switched computers and don't have your email readily available.

Congrats Papi,

Sorry I couldn't hook up with you in Bogota, but I didn't see the post until I got back to the states...

Regardless of what your critics say, at least you never gave up, and have had many great experiences in your travels that only your critics can dream about.  For many of them, the highlight of their day is getting up from behind their keyboards and taking a dump...

Of course, these same critics can't wait for this relationship to fail...and it's kind of funny that something runs rampant that is shared by all of them...none of them (that I can tell) are in a "successful, happy" relationship, or are in a relationship at all...

good luck and remember, these relationships aren't easy...have patience with your girl...

papi, even though i don't agree with you on just about everything regarding the process, the way you go about things and attitude towards colombia, i really hope things work out with the both of you. everyone has their own beliefs, criteria and list of things they're looking for in a wife so if your method and way of going about this works for you then congratulations. have you chosen a date yet?tell us more about her and how you met.

What is "normal" to you??  Is it normal for someone's first post on this forum to question what is normal or not??

Although I wouldn't catagorize Papi as being "fluent" in spanish, I think he has a grasp on the language.

So what say you Caligula...tell us about your experiences and the normality of your relationships with foreign women... :)

I am curious as well, although I am interesetd in his opinion on what he considers normal about meeting women period. I did not know there was one set way for people to meet or come together that applies to everyone or could be considered "normal".  After "boy meets girl", I always thought that the situations tended to vary...

Congrats! I wish you the best.

I liked the idea of popping the question on landing. I think that could be a good moment. Did you got hitched in SA too, but you are just feeding it to us a little by little? Also, does this mean that the thoughts of returning to gringas have come to an end? Where is Ray's "cartoon" reply? This poses so many questions for us that have been following on the side lines.

For the record: I like to think of myself as a member of the Swiss Fan Club that Doom coined.
