credibility of the posters
« on: April 07, 2007, 09:16:26 AM »
Currently, on the RWD site, there is a lengthy discussion going on regarding credibility of the posters. There is an effort to build criteria for evaluating the advice. It should be recommended reading for you all over here. If you have the time, take a look.

After all, it is not the quantity of the post, it is the quality. For example, 10 year wonders should not be evaluated by what they did, but what they didnt do since what they have done for themselves hasnt worked.

glad to hear i am not considered a 10 year wonder...although i have been called Stevie Wonder. I started in 2001.

I think it takes a lot of arrogance (i will go short of calling them douche-bags) to rate another person's opinions and observations and measure another person's success, as success can be measured in many different ways. I also know of several good looking guys with plenty of game that are either still in the hunt or decided to go gringa instead after failing to find their soulmate in colombia

I feel what happens is that an agency or service provider that does not get endorsed by a particular outspoken member sometimes voices a biased opinion against same which may not be warranted.

Papi, the real question is why you never fail to assume that someone is referring to you and respond each and every time. You are easier than a two dollar hooker  when it comes to getting baited!  ??? :o ::) ???

At least you can't be compared to a cockroach. Roaches usually scatter when the light comes on, but you head straight for it...

Soltero, I was not assuming this good chap was talking about me...I was just responding to his suggestion that we should start rating the credibility of posters which I don't feel is warranted. However, if Dan feels otherwise - fine with me. I say we start with the poster of the thread..lol

Well, I still stand behind my comment!   ;D   I call it like I see it.

I would assume the only assurance that someone is credible is to "take their word for it".  You would only hope that the person posting on the site would be honest and take this seriously.  Some of us do post on here for educational purposes.

The purpose of this site is to help you in your search for a foreign bride.  Some guys take longer than others to find the person they want to spend the rest of their lives with.  Some may be considered a 10 year wonder without a wife, but they bring 10 years of experience in foreign countries to the table.   That experience is necessary to help others find their way thru this difficult and important process.   I refuse to judge someone who got married in 5 weeks or 5 years.  Thats not important.  Whats important is the information and stories they provide.

I agree with everyone. ;D

A credibility evaluation is a good idea, but on the flip side to that I think it will turn into more of a popularity contest of sorts and your "good" or "bad" rating will be determined by what "click" your in and how dominate the "yeah" or "nah" sayer is.

on a side note (not speaking as a moderator) ....I like to give "props" for good zingers.  Soltero gets an "atta-boy" today!!!  That was a good spirited funny one, I thought. :D :D

I would like to add to this by saying the following you have to wonder the motive of anyone who makes trip after trip years on end and keep coming back empty handed!

I met a group of guys who flew in with me to Barranquilla to attend a TLC party. A certain person there seem to cast himself as the leader telling all the men what they needed to do. Well he admitted to me that this was his 4 or 5th trip to one of their parties. There is no way you are going to make that many trips with out a motive and it was not looking for a wife so don't kid me or anyone else on this forum. The motive is there look between the lines!

Just out of curiousity, how would this affect those of us who don't post very often?  My search wasn't very speedy and it occurred in the days before internet popularity.  Recently, I have assisted a couple of friends in their search, and read the board every once in a while when the time is available.  I would like to think I have learned something worth sharing in the last couple of decades...

Your story would have interest, especially since it occurred before the internet popularity. The older adventures probably have more meaning since times were tougher back then. Have you posted your story yet? PLease do.

My foreign bride search started in 1989, marriage in 1993, and divorce started in 1998. Not a typical green card girl. She was bipolar and the trigger was the birth of our child. Which is why she has zero custody now. . . . .

No offense to anyone, but I split this into two topics since it had went off in a new direction.  The new one is..."A mental evaluation first?"
