Bringing Viagra & other meds meds thru Colombian/USA customs???

Any problems bringing "a bunch" of meds thru Colombian/USA customs... including Viagra (or its Colombian equivalent)?

Disclaimer:  Although I'm still relatively young (39) and my wife is adamantly against anything that is "not natural" (i.e. Viagra), I'm considering picking up a few pills to see "what all the hype is about"  ... especially since its my understanding that it can be purchased at extremely low cost and without a prescription in Colombia?

I am planning to "stock up" on various meds for me and my wife on my next trip.  Being self-employed, I pay for my own medicines (and my wife's), so any Rx meds I can get in Colombia saves me the exhorbitant cost of a periodic Dr. visit, just for him to re-write my prescription.

Anyone have experience with this?

Me, personally, I wouldn't chance bringing anything unless I had a current prescription and it was in the prescribed bottle with the proper label.  You can buy it (Viagra) 2 pills, 4.000 pesos in Colombia.  I bought some on my last trip, not because I need it (I'm 34), but because of the amount of love I was getting!   

I am paranoid and don't want any unnecessary attention.  I would just assume not bring anything that wasn't legit.

 You can get a doctor to write you a prescription just for precaution measures. Even though you don't need a prescription to buy it. That's what I usually do. I also have the doctor's phone number handy in case they may want to call. But get a prescription. Remember what happened to Rush Limbaugh when he got caught with Viagra comming back from Dominican Republic?

You DO need a perscription to import drugs through US customs. There was a highly publicized case a few years back about a Japanese tourist who was arrested at the San Clemente Border Patrol checkpoint (between San Diego and LA) with 1000 hits of Viagra he'd bought in Tijuana. Back then it was $4 in TJ and something like $30 in Tokyo. He would have easily paid for his vacation with his plan. The only thing he did that was illegal in the US, was to not have a perscription. It is perfectly legal to buy drugs for which you have a perscription for your personal use. That's another place the Japanese tourist crossed the line - he'd planned to sell the drugs when he got back home, but that's hard to prove iif you keep your mouth shut. So make sure you have a script for every drug you're bringing back.

Bundy, only 34 and buying vitamin V? I am 47 and just bought my first pair of glasses in peru to drive at night. Try humping up tres cruses your next trip - it will help your stamina...lol

Yeah Papi....I'm not 18 anymore!  Good for a 20 - 30 minute session, but if you have a novia thats a sexual dynamo, well, sometimes help is needed!  First impressions mean EVERYTHING!  jajajaja

I've had a couple of sashets of Kamagra in my soap bag now for the last ten trips,, i tend to have it on standby like emergency condoms.  i never thought about the customs thing, with just a couple of packets ,,surley they would just take pitty on me.

You could always fool them and swallow the lot before you go through customs:)

If you're bringing only a small amount of viagra, say 15 pills or so, just put them in an aspirin bottle packed in your luggage and forget about it.  Very rarely do they search bags when entering the US...if it's small quantities I wouldn' sweat it...
