Regular Guys...Where you at?

Of the men who have posted pics of themselves with  their new wife, I have yet to see any regular guys (balding, gut, glasses, etc.) post any pics.  Its no big achievement when a good looking guy goes to another country and gets a good looking girl.

Where you at REGULAR GUYS!!! Speak up and and say it loud...

I'm a regular guy and look my age...sorry, not much in the way of gut or balding, but I do have glasses I wear sometimes.


No clue if this attachment thing worked. (and yes I know my lazy eye and sloppy beard trimming are very obvious...hmm...maybe I shouldn't post this...The malt liquor makes you do stupid things). I'm 6' 0", 170 lbs, 31 waist or so. Feel free to criticize. If I get rid of the sloppy beard I look really young.

jajajajajaja   Is there a stigma that says if you look on-line to find a novia, you have to be bald, wear glasses, black socks and white, tennis shoes? 

I preach and preach on here about taking care of yourself.  Eat right, exercise, trim that nose and ear hair, get a haircut, brush your teeth, put on some cologne, and updated your clothes.  Your woman or future woman will appreciate it, I promise.  Works for me.

If you want a beautiful woman, make yourself beautiful.  But.....I saw many FAT, bald, ugly guys with the hottest girls in Colombia.  It was either for the money or the sex, but either way, they had their own game and it was working.  Find your own way and capitalize on it!

I am not sure what some of you guys think that these women in SA are . They will put up with a fat, ugly Latino because they really do not have much choice and they always keep themselves looking like a walking Benjamin. Now, just because you are a gringo has little bearing on if a Chica will dig you or not, so if you are a fat , balding  not very attractive guy and you want to believe what these websites say about the women being different and not interested in looks, they you will get burned and burned badly. This is not to criticize Latin women, just pointing out facts, They have no choice sometimes on what type of Latino they can settle for , but they do have a choice with what Gringo not to settle for, If you are fat, balding, not attractive, you can still find a good woman in LA, but you better have realistic expectations like 35 + and 1-3 kids. If you see an real fat ugo with a real hot young one, she is only in it for the $$$$$$$$$$$$ and those are the facts period. I consider myself average , but i am slim and tall and i keep groomed well, nice Italian clothes and i smell good and the Latinas love a guy that smells good. You can compensate some for what God did not give you, but absolutely do not believe the website hype that these women will overlook your physical defects because it is jut not true. Now if you are older, say 20 years older and have kept yourself in good shape, then yes it is possible. But woman are woman everywhere in the world with some cultural differences , but they still want to be with an attractive man. Take this advice, go to the gym, nice clothes and choose the older women and you will be satisfied with a Latin woman, Go for the young hotties and then come back crying to this forum about why did she dump me for the young guy because i thought Latinas were supposed to be different. The you have only yourself to blame .Good luck if you do go south  or maybe you have been before, but please forget the notion a young hottie wants to be with an old fat guy because he is good to her, just not the case i am sorry to say. A Latina will overlook many defects , this is true but at the end of the day, she has to be attracted to you for more then $$ or a secure life.

 Yo're right most young beautiful women want a guy who is in shape. I mean if you care so much about the way you look, why would you not care about your partners loks? Heck, ugly and fat women would prefer a guy to be in shape if they could get them.But they can't.

   Having sex with an old fat guy must be hell for a young beautiful girl with a hot body who knows she can hit it with guys that are in-shape anytime she wants. Those girls must be great actresses. I know having sex with a fat and aging girl would send me to therapy for the rest of my life.

   I have seen many foreign women settle for the fat, old,bald guys overseas. Now we know most of these gals are rarely fantasizing about Shamoo showing up when they joined the agency. They settle for what the gringos they can get in South America. Too many gringos coming in with the candy store syndrome who can't decide what they want since they are in a good position to be picky there. So the girl is definately not in the drivers seat and she knows it. But she also knows the U.S. can bring about a reversal of fortune and if she finds another guy who fits her physical,mental and financial requirements there, she will be able to go for it. Rarely do those girls settle for Papi...oops I mean "chubby and aging  once they reach the U.S. Unless she lives in the sticks and there are absolutely no other guys around for her to trade up..

 My advice, if you're old, fat,bald and you want a young hottie, keep her in Colombia. Otherwise, know it is most likely temporary and she will be leaving before her 30th birthday. Some of you may think to simply go get another who is younger .but what if she files DV charges in order to avoid having to sleep with his fat ass for 2 years, but still wants to get the green card? What if the government starts limiting the numbers of VISAS one person can apply for? What then. Will the fat guys who love teen so much get more realistic. Or do they just keep going from poor country to poor country in search of his CZ??

I think this is a funny topic.  I’m an average guy in my mind.  I am more fit than most people (my age or younger), but I’m no Brad Pitt or anything.  The big thing is not so much the looks.  Granted you can’t look like a Troll and expect to get a women who looks like Salma Hayak.  The rule I heard was you could go 1 maybe 2 grades up on the scale of 1-10.  So if you are a 6 (and come on guys let’s all be honest with this) then you would likely be able to attract a Latin woman who would be a 7 or 8.  Now if you have some money, then add another point in there.

The difference is that latin women want to look good for their man, and will go out of their way to be sure they are going to look good on your arm.  They are very competitive with other women, because in their culture women steal men away from their wives and girlfriends as much as guys want to leave.  So in order to keep their men at home, they seem to recognize that they have to keep their man’s attention.

You don’t get that here with American women.  Most women seem to think it’s ok to let themselves go either after they get married or have children.  But then again, let’s all be honest, most guys let themselves go too.  I think the big issue is that the agencies are selling these beautiful women, and there are a lot of guys who don’t quite have it all together, go down there thinking they can score some perfect 10, hot passionate Latina like picking out a piece of electronics from a catalog.  Now those of us who have been down there know that the women actually do more picking than the men actually do, if you really think about it.

 Sure, the girls do the picking. But many are doing it for the wrong reasons. Is this guy willing to marry me as I need a better future? Some can't even speak the common language with the guy they chose to say yes to.

 I know many guys who marry a beautiful girl mainly because she wanted to come to the U.S. and he was the mule willing to take her. Some of the girls do genuinely choose well and wait for guys they really want. But I think that situation may not be as common as here .

 For example, your daughter will choose her mate according to many things. Her physical attraction to him, chemistry, his educational level, potential as a husband and mate, compatibility,his personality ect. Those are the right reasons to choose someone. But so many foreign women do not have that luxury.

   I had once posted a very realistic post here made by a Russian woman from another forum. She explained a lot of the girls looking for AM in her country where in desperate positions and therefore not picky. She herself chose to be picky,because her mother told her never to settle. but was getting very discouraged at the types of men writting her letters. She admitted she wanted someone attractive(which many women will not) also intelligent and wanted to have that chemistry. She ended up marrying a guy who at 40 was almost 20 years older and if you see his pics he is a Tommy Bahama's kind of guy. Very attractive and fit for his age., She said she was very proud of him and glad she waited. But felt sorry for the majority of women who were desperate as their families were encouraging them to marry any American as opposed to waiting for the perfect mate.

True, I think a lot of them find this out either through friends or relatives that have moved here to the USA. But aren't these generally younger women that do this?  (19-23 y/o)

 I would say chances are the younger ones would leave their bald out of shape guys soon as they can. Example, a chubby guy who is older,hardly speaks Spanish, but loves ketchup brings a hot young latina to the U.S. How long do you think it'll take her to know how easy it will be to upgrade? Even special ed kids can predict this outcome.

I have never asked, but I wouldn't think every bald or balding guy would be at a disadvantage.  Some wear it well and would look distinguished to the ladies....I think.  Then again, I don't see very many balding or bald latin men, so it may be a cultural disadvantage.

Generally, colombianas are averse to DIVORCE (sorry I put 'marriage' in first and did not proof read  ) and want to make their marriage work.  Although it is true that many would settle for someone who could offer them potentially a better future in the hope that they will fall in love with him, and when they don't they get depressed and resentful.

I don't think physical beauty is as important to a woman as it is to a man, but of course they do pay attention to it.  What is very important is physical appearance.  A colombiana will not stand it if it is embarrassing for her to be next to her bf or husband.  IMO it is also very important to make the woman feel secure emotionally and to make her feel loved.  A lot of guys don't do that.

In reality women look for different things, just as men do.  For example, for many guys it seems to be important if the woman is from upper class, or if she has already professional education, or if she has a lot of money, and for me it's not important at all.  Then there are guys who prefer women who are blondes, and others who prefer brunettes, etc.  I believe women are also the same way: each girl values different attributes differently.

I'm glad  I received so many responses. Based on your responses, I believe that something I've always thought true has been proven.  That being that women are women.   

Every thing said in this post shows that Colombian women arent all that different from American women.  Their needs, their wants, and their preferences are all the same.

If you have trouble maintaining a successful relationship in the US, you're not going to have a successful one in Colombia.
