not to get in the middle of this, but on amigos there is a section where you can look at new girls whom just joined from all over and not country specific. That being said, amigos is a waste of time and money despite UT's success years ago. It went downhill...i think cause they are greedy bastards and ran it into the ground. i can meet more women in 1 hour on latin cupid then amigos in a month.

Thanks for clearing that up papi...besides my question above, I would also like to ask UC this: If women are women all over, why amigos.com?? Why not match.com or other gringa sites... And why a mexican woman?? Why not a gringa?? After all "women are women"...

When I said that he could search the world over and not find anything better I was referring to that particular woman, not paisas in general. She sounds like a jewel and if I were him, I would skip visiting Medellin, nice as it is.

I don't recall picking a country on amigos but if I had it would have been the US and Mexico. I lived in a remote part of Texas where there were very few people, gringo or otherwise. Actually I did look for chicks on match.com and date.com but they are English sites and I didn't think that was going to help me find someone close by in Mexico. I figured those women would be on a Spanish site. Back in the day you could click on a link that showed you the new profiles and that was where I saw my wife's picture. Damm, she stuck in my mind. Seeing her picture I just knew she was the one for me. Sorry to hear that they've ruined amigos - it was a helluva site back in the day.

What did you mean then by "classic paisa"?? And you couldn't have been referring to her looks because you asked if she had black hair...

What traits make up a "classic paisa"?? after all, all women should have the same traits, since "women are women"...why didn't you refer to her as a "classic woman" instead??

You could come up with a classic paisa woman that would be a composite of all the stereotypical paisa traits: thrifty, punctual, hard-working in terms of personality and pale skin and long jet black hair with a rather European beauty in terms of looks. We have the same kinds of stereotypes in the US too, the Boston Brahmin, the New York Jew, the California Valley Girl, etc. My wife has a lot of these "paisa" characteristics but then so do a lot of gringas. Hell I had a Jewish girlfriend in law school who had the same characteristics. Could a guy find a woman with a lot of classic paisa qualities in Medellin? Sure but he could also find a lot of prepagos in Parque Lleras too. I still say women are women where ever you go and you could find a "classic paisa" in your own backyard.

This is a good point/observation El Ruso although I did hang with a few women from the University in Medellin that were cool and seemed to have some $. If I have the time, I might make a trip to Bogota to test your theory.

Sorry Bundy, sometimes it happens here, but don't take it personally...I am actually guilty of hijacking this thread also with my back and forth with Utopia Cowboy...

which reminds me...UC, that paisa I found in my backyard this morning...well, I had her arrested for trespassing...I wouldn't have minded, but after checking her papers, I discovered she wasn't a "classic" paisa, just a regular one. Looks like the INS will be called in and deportation is most likely...another paisa abusing the system
