USN 83-89 TAD to various ships in the Mediterranean while stationed in Greece.

I was on USS Corry for a while DD817. I have a picture of her before she was fram'd. Our helo was broke. Built in 43. . . . .

Any of you guys ever serve on DDG-14 the USS Buchanan? I used it as a cover shot for my latest book:



Sinkex 2000. They first hit it with a couple hellfires from helicopters. It just smiles and kept floating. Next 2 - 1000 lb laser guided bombs from an F-111 - still floating. Next, they hit it with a Mk 48 torpedo from a LA class nuclear attack sub - it malfunctioned. It took a seal team with a 1000 lbs of C4 to finally put it down the next day.

I remember seeing the old Roosevelt in the Med back in 73. Brings back memories. I was wondering why I didnt want to serve on aircraft carriers back then. . . . .
