So papi, you are saying your experience in Pereira was in complete contrast to the stereotype. Imagine that! :)

Cachaco, I feel for you being the only Colombiano posting here with some of the generalizations and stereotypes floating around, but you have to look at the person making those generalizations and stereotypes as much as look at the stereotypes themselves. Any thinking person knows that there is never any all one way situation anywhere. I can say that my city is full of hoes, and if that's all I associate with, then as far as I am concerned, it's the absolute truth because I don't know any better. I am not calling out any one posting those comments, just trying to place them in perspective.

Some of the Colombianas I have met here in Atlanta were pros, but I met them in pro heavy clubs. I have gone to an upscale Colombian club and met a few pampered princesses that would turn up their noses at the pros. There is a Colombiana at my job who is married to an American and she is top shelf. There is good and bad wherever you go, and anyone who wants to argue with that hasn't been anywhere or only goes to places looking for certain things and nothing else.

pereira is not full of ho's. that is it's reputation but there are a high % of lovely women living there that are legits. Absolutely gorgeous yuppie types.  However, some of the women working in cali casas and elsewhere are from that area. Furthermore, many if not the majority of young colombians in central america, maybe curasal and aruba are in fact working in the trade. These are simply the facts.

Thanks for the support, soltero.  I think as you do, that there's good and bad wherever you go, and Colombia and the Colombian people are no exception. And like you say, the places that you frequent are going to make all the difference as to what type of people you're going to meet.
At first I was very offended by some of the things posted here and attempted to dispute them, but I came to the conclusion that those who post the truly egregious negative stuff are not going to be convinced by any argument I can come up with. Their minds are made up, and I can't change them, so I won't waste my time anymore arguing with them.
On the other hand I think most of the guys posting here are decent people and are fair minded about Colombia.
