Papi's Cali Diet
« on: February 08, 2007, 02:49:50 PM »
I discovered that papi's fitness program does not work well in south texas. For starters, there is no tres cruses.  Consequently, I have been exploring different plans including atkins, healthy choice, and so forth. If there are any nutritionists out there or other dieters, I would welcome your positive feedback. Even though i have seen the texas tubbies getting the girls, i'd like to trim up a tad

Papi, if your goal is to loose body fat, I would say go with an Adkins type plan.  Cut the carbs and fat intake and the weight will go pretty quick.  Also, some type of cardio vascular activity is highly recommended...walking, jogging, running, bicycling, etc.   Weight training is ok, depending on what results you are looking for.

I try and eat 5 times a day, three low fat, high protein meals and two high protein snacks.  You have to eat in order to keep your metabolism in high gear in order to loose weight.  I know it sounds funny to say that you have to eat to loose weight, but trust me, it works.  I like bonless/skinless chicken breast, grilled fish, green veggies, egg whites and my favorite protein drink-Muscle Milk. (vanilla taste just like a McDonalds shake)

I am thinking about becoming a personal trainer once I sell my businesses.  I have been taking dieting classes recently.  I have also had a personal trainer for three years and follow a strict gym regimine.  I am 6'1", 195 lbs and have 9 % body fat.  Two years ago I was 260 lbs and 30 % body fat.  Oh yeah, hit a tanning bed once in a while.....the tanner the skin, the more defined your muscles will look.

Shoot me a PM if you want me to be more specific.

Bundy, I think you are spot on...i have heard most of this before but it bears repeating. I keep reading that drinking milk helps...how would that go along with the atkins approach? what about grapefruit juice?

i hate guys like you...ok, i can help. Breakfast, lets say we start the day with a couple Mickey D's egg/sausage muffins, papas and juice. Lunch maybe go with with BK - large burg of your choosing, fries with plenty of ketchup and a creamy shake. Dinner a big ol thick steak ought to be tasty by now or better yet a visit over to the chinese buffet. Top off your meals with a couple of candy bars during the day and a few pints of cerveza in the evening and you should be good to go. Oh, I only wish....

if yu happen to be in colombia, and order your burger down there - what they lack in meat they more than make up in grease and mayo.

I thought about that but i want muscle not a spare tire.  I've been to BQ twice and went to a restaurant called La Bonga del Sinu. I though the first time was a fluke but nope..went a second time and it was the worse, toughest piece of steak i ever ate in my entire life!  There was probably trichinosis in it too. So when in BQ i mainly stick with chicken and fish and cipro.

Santanger.......Eat, eat, eat.  You can eat healthy, but eat larger portions.  Lifting weights is the only way to put on muscle.  After a hard workout, have at least 35 grams of a good protein (egg whites, whey protein, chicken breast).  Try weight gainer shakes.  Eating a high protein diet and working out will decrease fat reserves and gain muscle mass.  Every plan works different for everyone, but take these tips as your foundation.  If you are not familiar with the "gym", I highly recommend spending money for a few lessons with a personal trainer.  They can show you proper ways to work out depending on what your goal is, eating tips, and show you different workout routines.

Papi, I only drink water (at least a gallon a day) and/or crystal light.  Sometimes I have a diet coke/pepsi, but that is rare.  Cut out sodas in general and in a few days you will feel the difference.  I do not drink many fruit juices because I avoid the sugar content.  Water, water, water!

I am not giving up the stogies or women. i also am doing the treadmill and some light weights. i will report in with a weigh-in in 2 weeks. wish me luck

You are doing Atkins if you are ording beer. You have to drink the hard stuff on ice.
