letter writing contest
« on: February 08, 2007, 09:52:47 AM »
I need help drafting a letter to my novia. I need to tell her that I love her but at the same time need to establish more trust over time and while I fully understand her economic situation feel it is too early in the relationship to start sending money and buying gifts and that she should not ask me for it yet. I need help putting these ideas into words...English is welcome but extra points for spanish

Tu Papito

How's that for ya?

Papi,
I thought long and hard about how to be subtle, yet to the point.  Laid back, yet dignified and I think I came up with just the right wording to convey your feelings, yet keep that charismatic "Papi Style" going.  Check it out and tell me what you think.

What up shortie,
I just wanted to give a shout-out to ya and tell you that Big Papi misses his little boo boo bear.  Check this out bebita:  I think your as cute as a newborn speckled pup and you got me thinking CRAZY things, but at the same time I want to be…you know…all grown up and mature about this love affair we have going on.  I know you like me, I can see it in your eyes.  To tell you the truth, I’m bringing “SEXY” back in style.  You ain’t blind girl, You see it too.  I know you may other male friends, but I know in your heart that you wish your boyfriends was a freak like me…Don’t cha?  I’ve been sitting up in my room smoking these ol’ stogies that I found in this sleezy little "panama wanna-hump-hump bar" thinking…”how well do I actually know this fine piece of breeding stock?”  I guess what I’m trying to say is…I think me and el papito needs a little more time to build up the trust factor, because all I’m thinking bout is that “banging” body  you  got and that leaves me little time for thinking about  how much I trust your love.  It’s understandable you want to get “wit this”, I mean….is there a girl this side of the panama canal that doesn’t?  Your talking to “The International Man of Love”, sweet cheeks.  Anybody can be a stud in their own little home town, but you have to have G.A.M.E. to be a stud in more than two countries.  I know you feel what I’m saying.

Another thing I want to holla to you about is all this money your asking for.  My motto has always been , just like Janet Jackson says….”You got to have a J.O.B. if you wanna be with me.”  I understand your mom is all jacked up, but wether or not I help is beside the point.  If she meant that much to you then I would think you’d be making that “Do-Ra-Me” to help take care of her instead of getting all up in MY grill.  Get out there girl, mix it up a little bit, I know you got skills.  Use them brains for something other than a marble game.  You know you  got me doing dance interpretations to show my love for you, but it’s too early in the game to be sending me a bill for all your needs.  Give it time.  Why settle for a camera, when in time you can have the whole photography studio.  That reminds me of a joke about these two bulls.  An old bull and a young bull…on second though, that’s not appropriate to tell a young tender-roni like yourself.  Your coming on a little too strong with your Christmas list at the moment.  I mean, you don’t start asking Santa for Christmas presents in July do you?  Do you hear what I’m saying?  I want to give you everything in the world, just not at this point in time.  Don’t forget baby cakes, while Big Papi does love you…at times I can be like a bicycle without a seat…I’ll get in your ass!!! Especially if you ain’t acting right.  You got to learn how we do it “Papi Style.”

Peace out wit cha, girlie

Sean, hilarious!!!!  ;D

i think Sol's letter might go over just a tad better. here is the translation mas o menos. feel free to see if you can improve on his thoughts...a little less papi style:

---------------------
Hi my heaven (love),

I hope you are well, and also hope your mom is in better health. My love, I want to say something to you...I love you very much, but, I think we need to spend more time for the both of us to establish more confidence in each other. I want to spend more time together and for us to get to know each other better. I understand completely your economic situation and needs, but it is too early in our relationship to start sending money and gifts., and the truth, I think you understand that now.

Don’t feel it is because I am cheap, I just want to make sure it is for the love and that it will grow to something beautiful between the two of us and think we need see each other more.

many kisses my precious doll
Tu Papito

Papi, Papi, Papi....DO NOT LET SOMEONE ELSE WRITE A LETTER FOR YOU.  That is a top 10 rule in Dating 101.  Use your own words, tell her how you feel and what you expect.  And for god's sake, be yourself.  Don't let someone else give you words, because that is being fake.  Be youself, be yourself, be yourself!  I can't stress that enough.

One more thing, how long have you been seeing this person?  Just wondering because you are already saying that you love her.  (yes, I know the difference between te quiero and te amo)  I wouldn't say either unless I was 1000% sure she was the one.

Good one sean126...... ;D

Hola mi Lepido,
Adios

Actually I don't think Soltero's letter could get any better.
I've written something similar and what end's up happening is that they usually disappear or go back to popping in and out of your life sporadically for awhile.
(Like you had before)

In my experience, after saying something like this to a girl you really discover how mature and where they are. If they are understanding and continue as normal, you have a good one. If they go on the "You don't trust me" kick after you use Soltero's letter, then send mine.

The letter is not bad at all, but there are a couple of items that don't belong there, and one word that should be replaced:

Hola mi cielo,

Espero que estés bien, y tambien espero que tu madre esté mejor de salud. Mi amor, quiero decirte algo...Te quiero mucho, pero, pienso que nos necesitamos mas tiempo para  establecer mayor confianza entre los dos. Quiero pasar mas tiempo juntos y conocenos mejor. thanks...i appreciate the fixes. i just got an email asking me when i am going to send money for the passport which i am hesitant to do at this time. i am going to now send the letter and revert back to cyber novias for the time being. lets see if she sticks...should be interesting. course, she could be working other gringos at the same time but that is not my impression. i probably should just move on cause i feel confident i can meet some nice new ladies but something is keeping me in the game and i have never been any good at juggling despite my bachelor ways.

This is what i think the forums are about. Trading info on agencies, hotels and helping each other with relationships

Bundy, besides, i found out in this thread that Soltero is a real poet and i am promoting him in charge of all future love letters. And i further inspired Sean - funniest piece of work i recall reading on these forums since some of doombug's reports

A Colombian passport cost $110.900 in 2003. About $50 USD...just so you know. Of course everything goes up annually.

Papi,
I am voting that she's going to walk.  Not knocking you - just from your thread, she seem to be self-centered - IMO.  You're right, this will be very interesting "test".   Hey, I'm wishing you the best, all the same... Keep us posted.

she wrote me back...sounded like Cyrano's email went in one ear and out the other yet I am not exactly sure. She asked me about sending her money for the passport...ain't going to happen cause i think she would just pocket the cash. i am going back to work starting monday so i may have to put project MOB on the backburner and try to hit the locals. i think i found a new young latino wingman in the area. I will just take his leftovers  ;D

speaking of hotties in the area, today 2 hot chicas in a light blue BMW convertible stopped me to ask for directions. They just drove up from Monterrey Mexico and spoke perfect English. I am thinking drug money but hard to say. Daddy's girl? no lo se. I was caught competely offguard. That never happened to me in Cali

DOG

Met many like her in my travels. Give her a pass and move on. She is only one of thousands that a man can meet. When a woman mentions money, i mention the elevator and that is where she will always end up, GOING DOWNNNNNNNNN

Been real bysy with my stuff and getting married in six weeks, but continue to read some stuff here and there

Take care All

Not unusual for Monterrey. Its largest suburb, San Pedro Garza Garcia, is reputedly the wealthiest city in Mexico. I spent some time there and it's interesting going to the large theatre complex to watch a movie. The whole parking lot is filled with Benzes, BMWs, Lexus, etc and nearly all of the young patrons speak good English. Monterrey itself is a very interesting city - check out the industrial parks near the airport - every major company known to man is there manufacturing goods for the world.

It's a great city. Unlike its twin to the north (San Antonio), people like to get out and exercise and you see far fewer fatties than you do here. It's setting against a backdrop of towering mountain ranges reminds me of Medellin but it's a lot more wealthy and prosperous.

As a rule, Mexicanas are a lot less interested in gringos than Colombianas. The chicas of a place like San Pedro Garza Garcia are not going to be interested in any gringo unless he's Brad Pitt or a facsimile (young, attractive, wealthy). Among the lower and middle classes, a gringo would do better but still, nothing like Colombia.
