Anyone have an extreme long distance relationship?  I

Do you and the misses use MSN or Yahoo messenger chat?  Video chat? You can even find free text message service to/from many countries.

Oh, by the way: a lot of chaps buy their lady friends cell phones and pay for the contract/service.  Assuming we're talking established novias, here.

Survived 20+ years in the Navy with no e-mail or phone service for months at a time. We wrote each other a letter, even if only a short one, every single day without fail.

One word, dude: WEBCAMS. Damm, I miss those hot and steamy web cam sessions that we used to have every other night.

If you have email, then I assume you have instant messaging features like Yahoo or MSN.  If so, then like others said chats, webcams are a great way to keep in touch.  Even better, voice chat, this way you can hear eachother and speak to eachother through the messanging services.  Just like a phone call.  Or maybe check into Skype type services where you can make phone calls from your PC.
