If anyone plans to spend any length of time in Colombia watch out if you buy a cel phone from Moviestar (and probably the other operators). When you buy the phone they offer to let you choose two "preferidos" or numbers that you will get a discounted rate on. What they don't tell you is that you'll have $4.000 discounted from your saldo every couple of weeks for the privilage. Then if you decide you don't want the preferidos they charge you $18.000 to remove them from youraccount and the automatic discounting. For that and the high perminute charges it's no wonder everybody uses minuteros who often charge as little as 100 pesos a minute.
