Dating the Latina...Observations

I've been dating some Latina's (Argentina and Costa Rica) for about 8 or 9 month's....I've noticed many similar traits in them both.


Now, I don't want to generalize, but they certainly do have some of the classic stereotypical traits which are usually attributed to our lovely Latina's.


Keep in my mind I'm really enjoying all aspects of dating and getting to know these unique, passionate and romantic women. The idea of dating American women no longer appeals to me.


Here is what I've noticed from dating both of mine:

• Very Romantic and really love romantic gestures, especially flowers etc... ( I learned this the hard way)
• They are very emotional and bring drama with this emotion...this emotion also brings the passion, so I deal with it. lol
• Very Passionate and very loving
• They immediately assume you are seeing someone else if you break a date or are not available one night---This one makes me laugh
• They love to dance and get you to dance
• They really enjoy sex----and want it every time we get together, sometimes they leave right after Who's using who?
• Did i mention they are emotional
• Other latin men hit on my girls and they don't like it, they think it's very disrespectful
• They know they are a little cuckoo and crazy themselves
• They love to wear skin tight clothes
• They spoil their children, especially their son's
• They love to dress up and look good for me
• My favorite trait is the tenderness they have
• They all think they are great cooks
• They talk to Mom every day on the phone
• They are very proud and super stubborn
• They like men to take charge
• Know where to find a good bargain, not too materialistic---I love this trait, it appeals to my thriftiness
• Yell at me in Spanish when they get mad or at the very passionate moment---this one is funny too
• Very little patience

Do any of these sound familiar to you?


I know not all of these apply to all people, but I'm surprised how many of these traits I've seen in both of the ladies I've dated.


I'm still loving it though...Not complaining, as the good by far outweighs the bad

Materialistic....I have found that is hit or miss.  But the rest seem pretty in tune with my findings as well.

  Looks like an accurate list to me. If you like those things then Latinas are for you!

The part about spoiling their sons is dead on. Took me 2 years to break that habit with my wife. Now, I run the show when it comes to my step-son and he is a much better rounded person for it. List is pretty dead on IMHO.

They might be in their country, I have noticed that americans tend to praise unhealthy stuff with hundreds of ingredients while my family will still be pretty impressed with a simple healthy meal, no wonder tex-mex is so foreign to me.


There is also the case where the guy might not like certain ingredients she has used for cooking her whole life so it takes a while to adapt.


I have talked to many guys who consider themselves good cooks... they call cooking making a sandwich or baking cookies (the ones you put in the oven and you are done)

Heck, I know some folks who still don't have the 'recipe' for making ice cubes or boiling water figured out yet...
