Someone answer this for me...
« on: May 09, 2012, 11:34:10 PM »
Hey everyone!

Been a few months and haven't posted much. Things fizzled with the Bogota chick. I've been talking with a 27 year-old from Barranquilla for a month and a half and am going to meet her this weekend...   in Panama City.

Here is my question...   Many of these women have no jobs, but they act like they are so busy during their day (Bogota was unemployed too).  In this case, she was supposed to do a couple of errands to prepare for the trip a couple of days ago, but didn't do it. Now, Thursday is the absolute last day to do it before flying out early on Friday. Could somone please tell me what they do all day? If I didn't have a job, I would be doing November's errands already.

FYI- this one has an engineering degree, so she is not someone with only an 8th grade education. both of her parents work and they have what looks to be a pretty nice house.

Hope everyone is doing well.  Horrible news about DenisLeavy.

Why you going to meet her in Panama ? My experience is if they do not want you to meet you on there turf , there home, they usually have something to hide . Colombians always talk about being busy with really nothing to show for it. It is part of there culture and best just to laugh it off. They are not, and I repeat NOT good at getting errands or important things accomplished unless it involves  the beauty salon or clothes/shoes shopping.Just part of there DNA and something you either accept or move on to another country like I did..Good Luck

Barranquilleras that don't have family in Panama but regularly travel there usually do so to work in the sex industry from my experience. I know women in Colombia that became prepagos to pay for college, but continued to maintain many sugar daddy/sugar baby type relationships when they couldn't find decent work after graduating. So she could very well have an engineering degree but still be the kind of woman you definitely don't want to get serious about. If I were you I would still take the rish and check her out, but sounds fishy to me...be very careful.

She doesn't live there. I invited her there (yeah, I'm the guy that's not all that keen on going to Colombia even though I did last time. I like doing things my own way and I get to see another city/country.)

I think that Kiltboy pretty much answered my question....    By the way, what country is your wife from and does she have a twin sister?

Thanks JasonA

My wife says thank you !. She is from Ecuador and yes she has a sister, but she is married as well. I dated many Colombians before I met my wife. I like Colombianas a lot, but for me, I wanted a professional wife that worked outside the home , not a stay at home wife or baby factory. I found that in my wife. Actually Ecuador culture is 100% different then Colombian culture. There are more professional women in Ecuador then Professional men. In other words, the women there are the main bread winners compared to the lazy men. You will not see many woman that want to be stay at home moms in Ecuador. There culture is to get a great education and then get a professional job .Great country to visit for tourisim. Much more diverse then Colombia and better beaches and resorts as well. If you like to surf, some of the best waves in the South American Pacific break in Ecuador. I have not been back in 2.5 years and will go twice this summer to take my son to stay with the grandparents and then pick him up before school starts. I cannot wait  :) . Good luck with your Panama trip. Look forward to hearing how it turns out.
