Hi, I'm originally from Boston. I'm new on this site. I just got back from BAQ during the Carnival. I'm a gringo, 27 turning 28, and I met a really nice girl here, and her family, who I met from Colombian Cupid. I really enjoyed the time I had here. I stayed in a hotel in a really interesting area(not what I was used to) but I suppose it is the Norte after all. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello.

Welcome RuseMD ... 10 trips to Barranquilla and I've still never been during carnaval ... really want to see it sometime.

What was the name of the hotel?  I'd love to hear your impressions of Barranquilla ... it's always fun to stroll down memory lane and re-experience things through someone else's eyes.  What did you think of the city, the people?  Any experiences stand out?  What about restaurants?  How's your Spanish?  Tell us a bit about your girl and her family ...

I stayed at the Howard Johnson in Barranquilla. I really enjoyed Barranquilla and I spent 7 days in Barranquilla it was really awesome. I met my novia on Colombian Cupid. She's very sweet, kind, and is in college. She's 21 and studying to be a teacher. I'm studying to become a medical doctor and will practice in the USA. I really enjoyed spending time in Barranquilla although it was a little odd at first due to being a gringo.
I think the people there are very kind and nice but lots of the city is filled with trash and not something I'm used to. It looked more like a construction zone and some of the side-road shops and vendors caught me off guard.

How about telling us a little about the evolution of the relationship?  That is, how long were you chatting online before you pulled the trigger and went down to meet her?  Did you just jump on the place for this ONE woman or did you have other girls lined up in case this one didn't check out in person?
