I think the 2016 Oylmpics is really going to tell the world that Brazil has "arrived" for anyone that didn't know it already.
There really is no rational reason why Brazil should not be a permanent memeber of the UN security council.
The only thing that is really holding Brazil back from being all it can be is Brazil.
If I was rich enough to build a hotel, I'd build it in Brazil.
