I read a very interesting article in National Geographic about how primal human nature is even though we consider ourselves to be civilized. When you think about it we're less than 10,000 years out of the jungles...a blink of an eye in terms of planetary timelines and evolution.
The article spoke in depth about the female tendency to mark their territory. Even though women supposedly don't do this consciously, leaving their scent on a man, or their earring in a guy's car, or their lipstick on your collar is programmed into their nature. If you've ever had a serious girlfriend that spent the night at your place once in a while, you probably noticed that she gradually begin to fill your place with her things. According to the article, this is a lot more complex than convenience...it is primal nature. Women also display primal behavior when they are pregnant and constantly "nest" wherever they are living. After reading that article I also begin to think this is why women are so damn catty at work...they're territorial.
