Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are looking to buy a house in Colombia, an Italian property consultant said Saturday.

According to Alessandro Proto, who has reportedly helped a number of Hollywood's biggest stars to buy houses, the movie-star pair are particularly interested in finding a home in or around Cali.

"The couple fell in love with the city during a secret visit at the feria," Proto told Colombia Reports.

They are just rich and crazy enough to pull it off. They could have 50 armed guards if they wanted. No sweat. And that crazy Angelina would probably get off just on the fact of how dangerous it is. I can see them in a finca outside of Cali, surrounded by heavily armed guards.

And by the looks of it, it seems like Angelina loves the "snow", based on her bony, skeleton like figure. And with Brad as a connoisseur of marijuana, he would be right at home there as well since the last time I visited Cali there was a big article about a strain of Marijuana that was, by weight, selling at the same price as gold and was being traded at equal prices with pure coca. This was a few years ago, so maybe gold was at $600/oz?

Where do you all get the idea that it is so dangerous for weallthy people to live in or around Cali??? It just aint so. You guys are thinking of a Cali from fifteen or twenty years ago (for example the kidnapping of the guy who worked for CIAT that was made into the Russel Crow movie Proof Of Life).  There are ricos and super ricos all around. Yeah they may have bodyguards but they live and work day after day in Cali sin problemas.

I'm sure their are, same as Bogota and Medellin, but their is big difference between rich... and world famous and rich. it puts you in a whole different category, lifestyle. Can you imagine if somebody actually pulled off a kidnapping of Mr and Mrs Pitt in Colombia?


ever seen the  movie " cocaine cowboys" think was part 2, the head narco in Miami was planning on kidnapping John Kennedy Jr and almost did it, except a beat cop just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. lots of crazies out there.

According to Alessandro Proto, who has reportedly helped a number of Hollywood's biggest stars to buy houses, the movie-star pair are particularly interested in finding a home in or around Cali.

"The couple fell in love with the city during a secret visit at the feria," Proto told Colombia Reports. The Feria de Cali is a festival of dance and parades that takes place in late December each year.

According to the property consultant, Brangelina asked him to look for mansions with no less than 15 bedrooms. He added that if the Hollywood couple find a happy home in Colombia, he will be able to propose the country to his other high-profile clients.

Angelina may have fallen in love with the region when she paid a visit to Ecuador in June, where she met with Colombian refugees and Ecuadorean president Rafael Correa in a small town near the Colombian border.

Cali, which the starry couple apparently plan to make their base in Colombia, is the country's third-largest city, located in the south-western department of Valle del Cauca. It is an unusual choice for a celebrity pad, lacking the more obvious attractions of the Caribbean coast or the capital Bogota.

A study released earlier this year ranked Cali as the sixth-most violent city in the world, with 73 murders per 100,000 inhabitants in 2009. Brangelina are unlikely to be phased by the danger, however, as the traveling pair are happy own a home in the U.S. city of New Orleans, which the study ranked just two places below Cali as the world's eight-most violent urban area.
