Hello Gents,

I need to find out where I can get a copy of the IMBRA pamphlet..  "Legal Rights and Resources for Immigrant Victims of Domestic Violence"...I searched google...The department of State and The Department of Homeland Security..I can't find it...

The funny thing that I did find is that there was no information on IMBRA on either site....

Thanks for any help...Hope all is well...

Best Regards,
Scott

did they ever finish it? The government took comments on the draft pamphlet a year ago. It may not be out yet.

I guess they never did finish it yet because I have checked ever where.  Immigration as well. I checked Department of Homeland Security and Department of the State. I get scripts on comments and ideas for the pamphlet from Professional organizations but no pamphlet.  I will call immigration Monday and find out.  I will keep you posted on the details.

As I said as well, I searched on the sites for IMBRA and nothing came back...That must be a good sign.  I also found out from my attorney that the IMBRA law is up for re-evaluation in 2010.  So I guess for now we must sit and wait to see what happens..

Don't they get it...That by trying to tie Americans hands they just open a market in other countries to capitalize on our loses.  So now intead of Americans making money and paying taxes...foreign companies will make the money with no taxes being paid and less protection for everyone....

I am sure this has been discussed in depth....Thanks for the response and as I said I will post the details for the Pamphlet next week.

Hope all is well.
Best Regards,
Scott

Hi Scott,

Welcome aboard!

There is a draft copy of the pamphlet submitted by DHS in July 2008 and posted in the Federal Register, Vol 73 on pages 42588-42590.

Comments were solicited for 60 days and I guess they are still working on it(?). Remember also that it has to be translated into at least 14 languages.

Okay Thanks I will check it out....So from what I read about the law is that the Government is supposed to make it available in the Native Languages...

So this pamphlet is 14 pages long?  wow..

I will look for it and keep you posted thanks again,

Scott

No, it's three pages long. Fourteen is the number of other languages they are supposed to write it in.

You are correct Michael. It is only a small 4 pages long and will be translated into 14 different languages.  I downloaded it from the link.

Thanks for the help gentlemen...
