This is the "clean" thread.  Use the other one in the flame room for name calling, provoking and bashing please.

At the request of "The Great One", I have suffered a lump on my head by a flying shoe and a I have suffered a bruised forearm by deflecting a frying pan thrown by my angelic sweetie pie, by taking the time of sorting out the posts into a clean and flame version.  Please keep them divided.

Thanks, Sean! There were some decent points made in this thread that would never be seen stuck in the flame room. The entire thread didn't deserve that burial. Much appreciated. Speaking of a "Great One", I know you are busy, but I hope you are finding the time to work on your next Oscar worthy film! YouTube is having a contest if you didn't know  (hint, hint)

Just don't forget to duck! The world is waiting on your talent. The little lady has to understand!

This is my first post so let me start by saying thanks for having me.

I am currently using Cherry Blossoms to search for a Filipina woman whom I can spend the rest of my life with. So far my search has been... disappointing. I was, at first, impressed by the number of beautiful young women but the few that I have taken the time to get to know have all disappointed me by telling me a sob story and asking for money. Each time that has happened I ended communication with them immediately.

Then along came May....

I initiated contact and we began talking to each other. First through CB then video chat in ym, and over the phone. Mind you, this is over the span of just about 1 week but I thought I had died and gone to heaven. She was beautiful, smart, funny (I mean really funny. a better sense of humor than the girls I meet here in the states), and she was sweet. I was thinking to myself "I think I may have just met my future wife!".

Then it happened....

Just like the others before her - The bad luck story (electricity being turned off). The request for money ($120). The persistence.

I toyed for one night with the idea that maybe I am over reacting. Maybe I am being insensitive...I mean I saw the tears on the ym video chat. Maybe this will be a one time thing. Maybe...just maybe I can change her and she will never ask for money again.

Unfortunately I could not shut off the rational thought side of my brain even when it was being battled by my 26 year old hormones (She is extremely hot). Especially after searching this forum for advice.

So alas I sent her this letter and ended communication-
Quote
OK, I've been thinking all day. I really like you May. You are a beautiful, fun, and exciting woman. You are literally my dream girl in so many ways. But I feel uncomfortable going forward with this because money was brought up so early. I know that you are going through a hard time but please look at it from my perspective. How would I ever know for sure what you really wanted? Money or me?

I wish it could be but I can't build a relationship if I always have the question in my mind "Is she with me because she really likes me or is she with me because she needs me for the moment?".

In the future, please allow things to develop into a solid relationship. Once you are in a relationship, if he is a good man you won't even have to ask him. He will just take care of you and your family. But you have to give things time to develop first.

Good luck to you on your search.

Love,

(I know that was kind of sappy but No need to throw stones at her right?)

Doing the right thing feels horrible when emotion wants to win. But thanks to you guys, I'll call you my big brothers, on this site for all the spirited discussions about these subjects. It really kept me from making a huge mistake.

Sorry for the repost but this is the thread that brought me to my senses. In my mind I really wanted to justify her actions but the sensible discussion here brought me back to reality.

kinetic1982.
Welcome to this  site..... and let me tell you. You did the right thing.  It was never going to stop.
Just so you know some of these dating sites are filled with scamers...

If a person doesn't know what he/she wants, he/she generally doesn't want what they got.

Sometimes we substitute the physical connection, or even the occasional emotional connection, for the real relationship we want to be in.

Thanks guys! This is the thread that saved me from talking myself into justifying her behavior. So thanks to the op and everyone who contributed after. You've saved one guy from falling for the wrong woman! ;D
