the climate back home
« on: October 25, 2008, 02:21:58 PM »
I'm wondering for any guys that are married to South American women, particularly ones that live by the ocean or have warm weather year-round, whether or not any of them lives in a place with cold weather. Is this something they adapt easily to? Do they hate it? I've noticed that most of the guys that are married and still around all live in Texas or Florida, which are exactly hard to adapt to as far as the climate is concerned.

My first novia from tropical Cali came to live with me in the Midwest. She adapted to the cold, was into me and more importantly making a new life in the USA.

She missed her mom terribly and we flew mami to the USA for a visit and had a ton of fun.

We have seen too many trainwrecks. The key is to find a gringo motivated woman into us and living in the USA despite her strong ties to family. The climate is secondary.

Red Bull may give you wings, but if Flakes could fly - BAQ is in fact an airport

Take a woman from Cali, she has lived her entire life in a temperature range of 74F-90F (and Barranquilla is much hotter). What do you think?

My wife is from BAQ and we live in South Florida the weather is almost the same so she loves it hear. We traveled to new jersey to visit my family two times so far but it was warm both times. She told me how beautiful new jersey is and she also says she would not have a problem living up north she would just need time to adjust to the weather. We will see we are spending her first Christmas here is the states in New Jersey with my family i will let you know what she thinks about here first real winter.

My wife is from Barranquilla and she loves the winter time.  She keeps wanting to see a big snow storm.  We really haven't had one in Southern Indiana yet since she's been here.  Living in the Ohio Valley...she does have bouts with bad sinus and allergy problems now.  We are known for that.

Not an Issue at all because if it was, NYC would not be full of Puerto Ricans (Native ). Any person can adapt and will adapt if they are told they must adapt.I have no patience for women that cannot adapt and made sure I married one that could this time. Hot weather/cold weather, she could care less because it is just more clothes or less clothes or in the bed NO CLOTHES ::)

Obviously over a period of time anyone will adapt, I guess I was more interested in how it affects their mood in the short-term. I know some people get really depressed if it rains a lot. Cold weather could be similar. It's interesting that Sean's wife actually looks forward to it, although i know indiana doesn't get as cold as it does elsewhere. I showed the girl i saw in peru some pics of snow piled-up 10ft high and she freaked.  :D

I think you're right, RJS. Sure anyone can adapt but seasonal mood disorder due to lack of sunshine is a well known phenomenon. I am a lot happier in sunny Texas than I ever was in frigid Montreal. I grew up there and even then, I couldn't figure out why anyone would actually CHOOSE to live there.

I have pondered that question quite a bit RJS, though more in relation to Asian girls. I chat with enough Chinese girls who have moved from Guangxi/Guangdong (about the same latitude as the Cayman Islands) to Beijing (about the same latitude as NYC) for school that I'm pretty convinced that a girl can adapt if she so chooses. However, having grown up here in the NW, I know some people, especially foreigners, always bitch about the weather and SAD. I can't remember where you're from to compare.
