I,ll be leaving for Baq on nov 11th. and staying till now 19th. I have no idea what i,m in for but I hope it works out like I pray it does.
Any ideas how to pack, what kind of cloths ect. I,m going to try not to full in love to quick. I just hope that I find one or two that I hit it off with. I,m truly looking for just that right girl to spend the rest of my life with.
I,m a friend of pappajeff and it seems to have worked out for him, so why not me.
Any feed back will be welcome. I don,t speak any spanish so it will be tuff to tell if these girls are for real or not.

I'd bring polo shirts, a few slacks and some jeans.  In Barranquilla the locals just where shorts on the weekends, so if you don't want to stick out....don't where shorts that often.  SUN SCREEN...the sun is a billion times more intense down there.  I'm naturally dark complected and I got burnt. 

I didn't speak a lick of spanish either when I went.  The translator I had was the best.  FIRST thing you do is tell her that you will need her help in deciding if any of the ladies are trying to BS you.  Ask her to be on the look out for insincere women and to NOT be afraid to speak up, even if you like the girl.  Other wise...they may not be as adamant about their opinion of the girl for you. 

Also....I'm sure all of the translators are good ones, but if you get a really good assistant..treat her right!  You won't regret it.

yeah man first day here and youre bustin up the place.....lol........do not dress like a tourista.....lol listen to the translators post in the general section youll get alot help.....good and bad trust me on that

Thanks guys for the info. Sorry I put this in the wrong area, but I have no idea how to cut and paste so i can,t move it.
I went out yesterday and bought some new dress slacks and shirts, I hope I don,t look to dressed up.
All I was going to take were dress cloths. Do you guys think that maybe I should take some shorts and jeans and tennis shoes?

I am new here but I know a lot about the subject.  Come here often and read. I saw this one and had to post.

I suggest staying away from the party scene and too much alcohol and clubs, for the first couple days at least. That way you can have a clear picture of who you like and don't like. It also helps you save money  ..That you can later spend with someone you know really like

yea have a good time ..... BUT don't expect to find a wife in the first 24 hours like most guys do. Just make a vacation out of it and whatever you gain will be a added bonus !

First off you admitted to being a friend of Jeff's Wow i do not know to many people that would admit to that...........

OK keep in mind that it is very hot there so dress for the heat...

you will find yourself wearing polo shirts and jeans or khaki's  most of the time and only wearing shorts if you go to the beach...

You will be fine as long as you listen to your translator and ask a lot of questions she will have your back as far as listening to what the women have to say when they know you do not understand what they are saying. make sure you go to the following places for lunch and dinner....

Buffalo grill
MIX restaurant
Dann Carlton Hotel has a great pool side lunch and a great restaurant on the top floor that rotates around so you can see the whole city.
Buene Vista Mall (crepes and waffle) on the 3 rd floor
Barranquilla Plaza great pool side lunch and a nice restaurant on the top floor also with a great view.
