Here's a good one..Bakla or not Bakla...

My wife has this friend she went to college with (in the Phils) who was most surely bakla (gay, cissy, homo), now don't get me wrong, he is a very good friend of ours and was at our wedding and helped with some of the prep for it.  He was not real outward with it ie. he didn't wear dresses or makeup, althought he did wear the makeup when he was younger.  We got an email the other day from him and he is now married and sent a pic of his baby boy.  The baby must be his, he looks just like him.  I guess we have differing definitions of gay than they do, or can he have made a turn around and renounced his old ways?  I know they have lesbians, they call them tomboys.  I mentioned to my wife what gays and lesbians do for intimacy and sex and she was shocked and said they don't do that there.  What's up, anyone know about this?  I'm not naive, just wondering if this lifestyle is so different there that they can do a switcheroo and start having a normal family after a bakla existence.

I don't think it's a huge secret that gays have only been "out of the closet" for a dozen years or so. Before that most had straight relationships with families and kids, and either supressed their urges or had secret affairs. I'd say that much of the rest of the non-western world is still that way. That said, there are also plenty of very effeminate men and butch women that are straight all the way.
