Bogota, never had a girl ask me for money or presents, actually, a few paid for dinner, was very surprised.
Medellin, 70 % of the girls I have met there, at one time or another has asked for money or some kind of present, clothes, shoes, money for school, ECT
Taxi fair, Bogotá, never had a girl ask me for more than the fair, one girl in Barranquilla and one in Cali did, but just those two. In Medellin, almost 60 % asked for more than the typical fair, sometimes 200% more. Probably didn’t think a gringo would know the actual cost.

My friend on this last trip was shocked how much the girls were asking for taxi fair, he included both ways, but the girls were asking way more than the fair, so he was pretty pissed about it. It’s not a lot of money, just the principle of it. 

Just a few points, some girls will ask for taxi fair, get into a taxi, go around the block, where you can’t see them anymore, get out, pay the taxi driver $ 2000 pesos and take a bus and pocket the money, while the gringo has no idea this is going on. A lot of agency girls do this in Medellin. We actually followed one  in a car, just to see it, because we had a good idea she was going to do this, and she did.

Also, if a single girl tells you, she is going to a finca, “farm” with friends to relax, it means, they are going there to party, get drunk and for sex. Unless she is going with her mother and father, its “party time!!!!!!”  most know this, but for some reason gringos don’t. Was quite a sock to my friend when a girl he started dating was going to a finca with friends. He thought it was not a big deal, until my Colombian friend told him what they actually do there. Even with family and parents, there, most find a place  to “ get busy “  ha ha.


I Like Medellin, the city is  nice, clean, good climate, but can be dangerous if  you go in the wrong area,  and  the  women are terrible, probably the worst I have seen in Colombia.  Maybe live there and bring in a girl from a different part of Colombia, Bogota, Barranquilla or Manizales, just  some thoughts.

The younger generation of paisas have turned into an opportunistic group of rumberas. I think it's gotten worse as the number of gringos and sex tourists have increased in the city. Personally I wish we could go back to the Escobar era.

Its situations like these that make me want to throw up. Women are the same all over the world its seems. To find one that has the good values and upbringing seems almost impossible. Everyday I am more and more disappointed with the quality of women. Just last night I got stood up by an AW.

i don't think Medellin was this bad before. when i visited it 3 years ago, their  was no Medellin Mansion where all the perverts go for underage and prepaid  girls. their were very few gringos going there due to the fact that they just didn't like gringos.  but now, with all the gringos throwing money around and an agency influence that was not there before,  the girls know its easy to get $$$ and take advantage of a gringo willing to give it to them, buying  love, lust or sex. Colombians are very opportunists and  Pisa's ( girls from Medellin)are the best at it from what i have seen,   and if they know they can get something from you, they're going to get it.

It's kind of a shame because the older generation of Medellin women are the best on the planet.

I can agree and disagree with that. Maybe it is the fact that many Colombias are opportunistic like a poster said, but I have met some great women in Colombia that never asked me for a dime. More men really should try Ecuador. You guys have seen pics of my wife and have heard me talk about her. Her photos do not do her justice, she was asked to be in the Miss Ecuador pageant and she turned it down and also to be a model. She is very shy and does not like to be photographed nor gawked at in public. To be that beautiful and have a great heart as well and to never one time ask me for anything when were were dating, money, taxi fare, gifts , Nada, goes to show how wonderful and respectful the culture is in Ecuador. Again, I have met some great women in Colombia that never asked for anything. I personally think Agencys suck and breed a atmosphere of men throwing money around because they have no game or personality to get a woman to like them otherwise and the newer women in the agency see this and figure whats good for the goose type mentality. I know some guys have met good women in an agency, but i bet if you got real solid facts, there are way more failures  of relationships from agency's then not. My wife never knew a marriage agency existed and would never even consider using one. You need to think outside the box these days if you really want to find a life partner, IE, LEARN THERE DAMN LANGUAGE BEFORE YOU GO LOOKING, look in the smaller cities that almost no Gringo has spent any time in, those ladies need love too and are not corrupted by guys buying there affection. The easy way usually is the bad way in most everything in life. Remember that !!

I personally think Agencys suck and breed a atmosphere of men throwing money around because they have no game or personality to get a woman to like them otherwise and the newer women in the agency see this and figure whats good for the goose type mentality. I know some guys have met good women in an agency, but i bet if you got real solid facts, there are way more failures  of relationships from agency's then not. My wife never knew a marriage agency existed and would never even consider using one. You need to think outside the box these days if you really want to find a life partner, IE, LEARN THERE DAMN LANGUAGE BEFORE YOU GO LOOKING, look in the smaller cities that almost no Gringo has spent any time in, those ladies need love too and are not corrupted by guys buying there affection. The easy way usually is the bad way in most everything in life. Remember that !!

     I somewhat agree with you KB but I have to add that it depends on the agency.I have been a member of quite a few agencies over the years and I have seen some of what you are talking about..ie...men throwing money around and the like and I have also seen the "old, fat and bald" guys chasing the young attractive women around.I never minded any of that because those guys helped me to see which women I didn't want....I have also went the no agency route and think that is good also.What worked for me in an agency is that I used an aggressive approach.I knew what I was looking for in a woman and I talked to as many as I could. I visited the agency as often as I could  and utilized everything they had to offer...except for the socials.I don't have anything against them..they just didn't appeal to me.I felt like I could do better in a one on one type situation.I knew a couple of guys that were members of an agency and took out ads in the local paper when they were in town.Again, I think its the approach.I met so many women I lost count after a while.I've seen green card girls and just plain con artists but I have also seen ALOT of good women in these agencies.The whole time I was looking I never really got discouraged by anything I saw, after all....I was only looking for one good woman......
