I didn't even realize that the Brits had their own food. I don't see many British restaurants around here...  :D

I have a GPS thing for my car that can look up restaurants, and one of the food categories is British Isles or something like that. No clue what that covers though...plenty of people think there's no American cuisine either, but I can't see ignoring Cajun food, Texan BBQ, and all the other cuisines in America, let alone the various fusion varieties that started here.

Well, they like breaded fish fillet and fries.  My guess is that pub food is similar to British food, and I frankly am not a fan.

I've recently been to the UK and pub grub doesn't deserve its reputation.  The mass importation of Indians and the like has made UK food much, much better.

It's quite good, IMHO.

British food is so good the national dish is Chicken Tikka Masala.

There's a reason for the old expressions:

Heaven is a British home, a Chinese cook, an American salary and a Japanese wife, while
Hell is a Japanese home, a British cook, a Chinese salary and an American wife.

or

In heaven the British are the cops, the French do the cooking and the Germans build the cars, while
in hell, the Germans are the cops, the British do the cooking and the French build the cars.

I'd heard the first one but not the second. That was hilarious.

My ex is Filipina.  I married her there. When she finally got her papers straight to come to the US, everything was fine for awhile.  But then she became more and more materialistic, more lazy, and less romantic and family oriented.  At the same time she was sending more and more of "our" money to the Philippines to help her family build a bigger house, buy more things, etc..  when at that time the family were planning to come here to the states anyway.  It turned out to be a big mess, ultimately leading to divorce.  And even though she spoke English, I think she did not understand the ways of the world very well.  And did not appreciate where money comes from and how to spend it wisely.  Granted my ex was from a small/medium town, but I have met many ex wives of military personel here where I live from bigger cities who were even worse than my ex.  But let me tell you this also, I have met many Filipinas working in the health care industry who are the nicest, most hard working (almost to a fault) than you can imagine too.  It seems like two extremes.

Colombia on the other hand, from what I have seen in my trip to Bogota and Cali last year, the women are much more romantic, loveable, and passionate.  They all seem to enjoy caring for their man and almost every single woman I met there, when asked what their goal was in life, they responded with "have a loving husband and make a happy, healthy family."  And in the Philippines you would get more answers like, "I want to have a big house, Honda Accord, and bring my parents to the US".  Colombianas seem to be more jealous.

From my point of view anyway, I would say Colombia wins easily.  For that reason, I am heading back there, this time to the coast in July.

Well from my point of view and after a few months of chating in international dating. i think, we can not generalize about girl nacionalities or races. each girl is peculiar and unique. there is good girls and gold diggers all over the world like in our own country.

However, in asian countries it is normal the husband support her family (it is their cultures). But their parents do not want go abroad.
In latin countries, it seems me it is a little different about future support.
and other thing.  the colombian girls are more sensual,
the filipinas are more shy, at least in the pictures, and profiles :P

between philippines and colombia . there is also some similarity.
for examples, both of them do not care about the big age gap,
because, in their countries, they also marry with older men that have a nice financial stable.
and both are catholic.

for english speaking. the philippines is an advantage

I have a Fillipina friend who lives and works here in the states. Everytime i see her she trys to convince me that i should drop the idea of a latin wife and go with a Fililpina as a wife. She tells me the Fillipina's are much more easy going and make much better wives than the latin women. She says the latina's get angry to easy and explode , where as the Fillipinas are cool and calm.
She may have a point there "Bobbett"?

Depends on the Latina. My wife is always very rational and calm even when we have a disagreement.
