I decided to start a new posts to answer the question about the $65,000 I spent on the search for my wife.
And no Bundy...my net worth is not in the millions at least not yet!!...lol.....I was able to spend this much because I had very low monthly expenses at this time
First...please understand everyone that my four years spent looking for someone including courting my wife for a year...was treated as a VACATION!!
I never treated those trips as only being a wife hunt. I was going to enjoy myself...on my vacation.... five star living....and thats exactly what I did.
To break it down...about four trips a year (about $16,000 plus a year from 2002 to 2005.
Where was the money spent??
1. Airfare....including trips during the Christmas season...no deals to be had this time of year.
2. Hotels.....I am on VACATION....I am not looking for the 20 dollar a night hotel. For example...in Cali I always stayed at the Intercontinental. I always had the suite with a jacuzzi.
3. I enjoyed going out to nice restaurants with my dates to eat.
4. Side trips - I took girls to San Andres while staying in Cali. Of course..I am paying for everything. I also took side trips while courting my wife to Tarapoto and Paracas in Peru.
I usually stayed for two weeks everytime I went. All of the above plus other incidentals added up to about four thousand a trip.
There is no doubt I could have
saved a lot of money by staying at simple hotels, choosing pizza over the nicer restaurants, and eliminating the side trips.
But then for me...."the adventure"

would not have been a vacation.
