Bucaramanga is a medium-sized city in the mountains, a bit warmer than Medellin. not much to do save for a several small parks.  there is a canyon nearby, but I didn't see it.  There is a very atmospheric and nice colonial area called Giron.  The upper strata is called Cabecera, it is a combination of modern hi-rises and a mall.

thanks for the update...now if anyone can be of assistance with a hotel, it would again be most appreciated. My amiga suggested the Dann but she got a quote of $200K...a little pricey for even Don Papi
