background checks

I understand theres a new law that say's all American men must now get a background check . Will this background check be used to stop the visa or is it just to let the girl know the guy's background? I also read that the girl must have this background check with her at her interview.

I think you are referring to the new IMBRA law. Essentially, under the new law, you don’t have to do anything to get a background check unless you are a US citizen purchasing an address or contact info from a “marriage broker”.

Nothing in the law says she must bring a background check to the interview. If she is applying for a K-Visa, there may be some background info gathered by CIS brought up at the interview.
