New to forum with travel benefits and a condo in Panama

Ok.  I have been lurking on the site for a while.  I work for the airlines and am in Panama every week where I have  a condo.  I have found a affinity for Colombian women especially from Medillin.  However, most of the ones I meet in Panama are "working girls".  Of course it seems better to go to the source (colombia) to find a "real" girl for a wife. 

My questions are;

How many sucess stories are out there?  Is there a place on this forum that shares the sucess and failure stories or do I just have to dig thru the messages?

Are there any statistics on how long guys usually date before getting married?

I see a lot of talk about agencies, but I dont understand the benefit in them.  It seems you would get a high percetage of "working girls" who attend these type of events.  Where the girls you would really want are not able or embarresed to go to one of these agencies.

What about prenups?  I have not seen much written on prenups here, but I would never get married to anyone without one. 

It also seems to be a communication problem.  Most of the chicas I have met do not have a computer or email address.  Some use hotmail accounts and internet cafes, but they admit to not checking email frequently.

Of course I have met chicas and within a date or two I am a novio, and they are talking about our future together.  I mean what a turn off that is, I can see the green in their eyes, green card and green cash.  I have the ability to see a chica every week I cannot imagine, meeting them once or twice and getting married like most guys who have a job and limited resources.

You are wise beyond your years compadre. Your comments on working girls and the embarassment felt by "attendees" are extremely insightful and show a rare level of understanding of the culture.

Success rates world wide are low for many reasons. Even lower if you are going on a "romance tour".

Some of the few successes are here and some of the failures. Most pf the posters are in the process in one form or another.

If you are really set on a woman from another country for your wife, then take your time to do it right. Take a year- you have the ability

I tried to explain that in earlier posts, some took offense to it. Don't base Colombians on those working in Central America

Agencies are one tool in the arsenal of options. The % of working girls is relatively low yet there is no shortage of flakes, interasadas and green card sharks. They tend to be the bottom of the barrel but not always.

Then don't get married without a prenupt, easy enough to get one drafted by an attorney. Have it done in both Spanish and English

Again being with the airlines affords you time to take it at your pace. If you really have game, you can try venturing outside the internet/agencies and into the better malls, clubs, gyms, etc. You will find a different chica mindset outside the agencies. Don't be surprised if the attitudes towards men are similar to latinas in miami, especially in the higher strata and especially in medellin

Se Habla Español, many of us are still learning everyday but speaking/writing basic/advanced levels is a big plus.

you might consider your apartment in panama....colombians can travel to panama. If you can spend a lot of time there, you could get engaged and live in panama with your girl before popping the question. Just a thought

That's a crock of dog droppings. What they're really saying is, the "chemistry" hasn't developed enough yet that they'll commit to responding to your emails.

Welcome to the forum.  Since you asked... there are many happily married success stories.  Most of them, though, have "their hands full", and don't have a lot of extra time to post on discussion boards.

If you are seriously looking for a wife, don't be side-tracked by the negativity that is too often pervasive on discussion boards.  The reality is... creating a happy marriage is a challenge and requires effort, everywhere in the world, irrespective of whether the relationship is domestic or international.  Some people prefer to see the cup as half empty, while others see it half full.

You will sometimes find married guys like me, still in the immigration process, who have some extra time on my hands.  However, after my wife gets here, the reality is I simply won't have as much time to read and post as I did before.

Sounds like you have a great opportunity to find a compatible Latina wife with your job and living situation.
