The service I use to telephone Cali has reduced their rate from 5 to 3 cent per minute. It is called LD Peanuts and is available at
www.ldpost.com. I have used this service for several years with little problems. The service works by calling a New York gateway number then using a pin # to access your account, then you can dial the number in Cali. You can also go on line and preprogram your phone # so the system recognizes you and no pin # is needed, you then can set up a speed dial for the number in Cali. I have also set the system up to recharge my account with $20 when my balance dips below $5.
So for me to call Cali all I need to do is, from my cell phone dial 9 which is my speed dial number for the New York gateway number. A machine will answer and tell me the cash balance in my account. I then press #01 which is the speed dial number their system assigned me for my ladies home phone in Cali, and that’s it.
