I forgot to mention in my last post that I ordered flowers for two girls in Cali and used Calicharm.  They have several nice arrangements (I bought the $40.00 ones) that would cost more like $100 here.  I sent Walter the money via Paypal, he got the flowers together, contacted them and took a picture of them and the flowers and emailed it to me.  The girls were so flattered and it scored me some serious brownie points!  I highly recommend contacting Walter at www.calicharm.com for your flower needs.  and no, I am not on his payroll!  i like to give credit where credit is due!

I'm not knocking the business but $40 USD is a lot of money for flowers in Colombia IMO...they grow right outside of town...maybe they were delivered by armored LandCruiser to the lady, I don't know....20,000 or 30,000 pesos for a nice arrangement (unless you are buying her an expensive vase) is my experience if I remember correctly...

DT, you were on the bogota bandwagon the other day.  I did a price comparison and find flowers at the bog agency on sale from $39.99- $99.99.  Now that is hilarious…$100 for flowers in Colombia.  I suspect ALL agencies are substantially higher than the local florist

assuming a 100% markup, that would put it in the 60,000 range;  40,000 more for delivery?  But, hey if the arrangement compares to a $100 one in the States, that's pretty impressive.  Bogota is a much bigger town physically than Cali...so transportation might be a bigger issue there.  Guess an armored LandCruiser is being used for the Cali deliveries.  (Maybe some gringo will start an FTD-Latina! )

Hey, they gotta make the money someway I guess Bundy.  If you are happy, that's all that counts.

Well, for me $40.00 is reasonable.  The arrangement was approx. 3 ft tall and had 2 dozen roses, sunflowers, and lots of others.  Very color cordinated and she loved them.  Thats all that matters.  Can't wait to get there and receive my besos for tjose flowers!!   That alone is worth the $40.00!

You're right Bundy, the intangibles far outweight the cost!  Good decision!  surfing at 60kb/sec via Wifi in  Cali from my apartasuite...way cool!  why go back to estadus unidos?  things go well with my Cali Diamond & her familia...
