Death Threat Deleted?
« on: June 24, 2007, 09:28:16 AM »
I am confused by the deletion of the death threat that Papi received yesterday via MarkAnthony.  If the PM was found to be true than people need to know this about an agency owner they are dealing with.  If it was false than please let us know so we do not hold it against MarkAnthony.

This becomes a safety issue, and I would hope this board would not cover up the outburst.  Markanthony may have been prevoked but it was his responsibility not to overreact and start make death threats (If he did). People are very vulnerable in Colombia and want a stable person to help them out...not someone who is going to freak out because of a disagreement and have to wonder if they are going to be whacked.

Please clarify this so we know what the hell to base our opinions on...

I'm not speaking for Dan or Catz...only myself.

I deleted it because this was no place for it...especially since the possiblity of a lawsuit was brought up.  Personally, I think this is not the place for a public trial.

Take rumors and allegations as just that...rumors and allegations.  I would assume brains and good judgement is all thats needed to figure this one out.  I've had my dad tell me that he was going to beat me to death before, when I was little.  I really didn't think he was going to kill me.

I, personally, have not seen the entire e-mail transaction.  Don't know if it's real, taken out of context or what.  I also have no interest in seeing it.  I do not know if it was a pm through PL or an e-mail through a regular e-mail account.

Basically...I know nothing.  I think that's all I should say about it.

Thank you for taking responsibility for the deletion. At this moment, I would like to see if this threat was real or not.  If it is shown to be real, I think it should be a part of the record here, so people can know who they are dealing with.

Most posters would not have even had the opportunity to see the threat since it was deleted so quickly, they will not have enough information to make an informed decision.

I don't know anything about your dad, but this seems very different.  For many, there is a tinge of fear when traveling to Colombia to begin with.  I would take a death threat seriously when travelling to Colombia simply because it is so easy and inexpensive to carry out.

Thus far I have not seen a denial of the threat, if someone accused me of making this type of threat and I didn't make it, I would be very quick to deny it & demand proof that it was made.

keep in mind that both parties are in moderated status.  what they can post is up to the moderator and it will also be delayed.  How long of a delay?  I don't know.

I'm not the one who did it.  I'm just explaining the time delay.  And if either party is serious about a law suit then I would assume they are smart enough not to say anything more about it on a public forum, even a denial.   That would make perfect sense to me.

But, when my mother told me that she should have drowned me at birth, I really believed her.

Sean, I agree with you completely on this one. Is there a present apparant ability to carry out the threat? Probably not. Heat of the moment and anger? Yep.

The sky is not falling. . . .

Six month lag time on posts should be just about right. . . .

Thanks dude.

I moved this to the "off topic" because I deleted the last discussion about it, didn't really think it needed to be brought up again.  If this one needs to be deleted then I'll let Dan, Catz or Jeff delete it this time.

FT,

My personal opinion is this is typical Papi-induced drama (PID, for short). As you know, we have had the grand pleasure of dealing with PID in the past. For a few weeks, PL has been free of PID, but it seems we are now afflicted yet again - although this time, we will keep it on a short leash.

As for the "death threat" - this is a mountain from a molehill. I have received an email from Mark which seems a plausible explanation of events and which erodes any serious thought or concern of a death threat.

Sean pointed out that both Mark and Papi are in Moderated status owing to the threat of legal action. I understood Papi to be making claims of criminal action - which, of course, are far more serious than civil actions. I further suspect that no rational law enforcement agency would take a dispute over $100 seriously - but stranger things have happened.

When a person looks at a dispute of this sort, it is wise to consider the history of the disputing parties. We have an abundance of history here, and the pattern does not seem to favor Papi when it comes to money issues - IMO.

FWIW

HBO needs new writers, now that the Sopranos has ended....a positive outlet for PID is perhaps a sequel to the Sopranos....let's see...there's murder, mayhem, lying, cheating, many sessions with a shrink interspersed with bombastic threats, counter threats .....and reruns.....

Papi, there's your new freelance job...send your resume to HBO along with clippings from planet-love.com --- I'm sure you'll get an interview right away.  It's not necessary to know espanol, however, a heavy New Jersey or Italian accent can be used liberally throughout your future HBO writings.

Dan, since PP is in moderated status, please preface any new posts by PP -- we'd like to know if the post is a "rerun" or a "new release", ok?    PP may rapidly go back to reruns by monday (tommorrow).

It's so refreshing to hear from an "experienced" latina hunter like PP and how he coolly handles the unexpected and the ocassional $100 South American bump in the road that would normally rattle a "beginner"  (most ALL of us) at latina hunting

Sorry Chizz.  Under orders to lock it down and zip it up. Because of the mention of lawsuits...any further comments, posts, references, insinuations, handsignals, symaphor, ect.. to this particular issue will be immediately deleted or modified.  We hope you understand and will not push the issue.  No further explanation will be given because this IS the explanation. We know nothing and we don't want to know anything.
