true about the avocado tree...but this house has 9 heavily producing guava trees instead...wife loves them...me I would have preferred avocados.
Fathertime!
Guava trees are very messy little devils, much more so than avacados.
I had a guava tree for many years and it was full of bugs. Natural predetors will control most of the white flies and aphids
IF you can keep the ants out of the tree (the ants will protect the sucking insects). I used tanglefoot goop but those argentina ants always found a way to bypass it, even sacrificing their own little bodies to build a bridge over the tanglefoot.
After many years, there were Guava roots running 20-25 feet throughout my yard and suckers were popping up all along the roots. What a mess.
It took a few years to completely eradicate that sucker even after cutting it down. No more guavas for me!
