If I'm thinking about the right guy I remember him getting quite annoyed with some of the "advice" he was getting when he mentioned marrying a girl from Cali after a single trip to visit her. Things proceeded downhill from then on. I'm almost sure he went ahead with his original plan although he was definitely considering other options after reading what everyone here had to say.
I certainly wish him the best and hope everything worked out for him
