Ok, preliminary update.
Oldest sister of my novia emails me for the first time. Says that there is someone in the family that does not approve of the relationship. It seems that this particular family member (I won't name a name, oldest sister did not want to give that name away) did not think that I was serious and would not ever arrive in-country and that I was just a "on-line" thrill seeker at best. This family member (I had already guessed who it was) created a new dating profile for my novia without my novia's knowledge or authorization. This culpable sibling decided that she would create a new placeholder profile for my novia once my novia 'came to her senses', eventually finding the man of her dreams.
Soooooooo. Egg on face, I am trying to reestablish contact with said novia. I am still scratching my 'cabeza' trying to figure why the sibling would ever get that impression based on what she already knew of me. But who knows how some women think regardless of culture.

The more you write about this girl, the more she sounds like a professional scammer. I'll be completely honest with you Begin, when a Colombiana is being honest and is really interested in you, the issues you're describing will never present themselves...especially the new profile thing. Cut your losses and move on. Please believe you don't have to put up with the trouble of guessing.

Frankly...sounds like a bunch of...

I won't go into details but the "Trust but verify" axiom someone here uses was helpful. I used that axiom in this case and found the ladies 'story' wanting.
And the real kicker was the new Facebook 'friend' on her account she claims she never touches at all anymore. That guy just 'appeared' suddenly only 2 days ago.
Gentlemen and I_V and Brazilian_G. I thank you all for your sage advice.
And yes FT I do let it all 'hang out there' when it comes to these things. If I didn't everyone of the newbies would get the impression, based on your phenomenal success, that finding a good woman in Colombia is a 'cake walk'.

A couple things Beginthebeguin!

1.  Can you put that original avatar back up, I got a kick out of that austere photo?!

2.  I don't know about you letting it all hang out, that is hard to do when you haven't actually left home yet!

3.  Do you have any plans on travelling soon?  Are you talking to any new babes and if so from where?

That is a nice avatar old man!  I don't think I have enough time to jab at you for 100 years though! jajaj

Good luck with the coastal ladies and don't forget to buy a plane ticket one of these months!
