During the latest round of severe weather landslides and flooding about 80% of Colombia's roads have been damaged, some severely. There is now some concern that this Women's Strike will spread nationwide.

I immediately thought of The Lysistrata. The play is hilarious and well worth reading imo.


Is that really the inspiration here or is the author making that up? I guessing the latter because i don't really see knowledge of ancient greek literature as very common among the women of a small village in colombia. Hell, if i asked a thousand people up here if they'd ever heard of it, 999 would probably say no.
