I heard that she doesn't even carry a gun. I think someone should buy her one (a big one) and train her to use it...

She's really something. I heard about her on the news. Hope she makes it. Yes - she doesn't carry a gun but has bodyguards all of the time.

given that there is so much drug money to be made in that area does she really think they will not come after her?

Actually drug dealers in Mexico tend to be the worse machos out there and that will sort of be a benefit... I would guess they will not take her seriously and ignore her first, try to make her look like a fool later and might even try to court her to have her on "their side" or threaten her away from the job, I think her family is in more danger than her to be honest, either way if she quits tomorrow she will stay famous and have an impressive resume

If something does happen to her she would end up like a martyr of some sort and maybe something will finally be done about all the problems over there (but of course I wish her the best)

Although she will be left alone due to the high publicity, eventually she will have to either "acoplarse" (fit in) and accept bribes, etc. OR, if she refuses, she will be killed.
