On your local PBS station at 7:00 pm Central...the second episode of Inside China.

The first episode discussed politics "in general" and was actually pretty interesting.

Next week will discuss Women in China.  If you have an interest in China try to remember that knowledge IS power.  The same thing with watching folks like Anthony Bourdain, or any other travel show.  You NEVER get the full story, but you CAN glean useful information that might come in handy.

I read the episode synopsis online and unfortunately it looks like the women that they focus on will mainly be migrant workers (poor people whose Hukou is in rural villages who move to the cities in order to take menial work). It seems as though every time I see anything on TV about life in China these days, it is always the migrant workers that the producers focus on the most - not sure why that is.

OK well it isnt as exciting to watch as you would think. A chinese taxi driver who endeavors to learn better English for his clients in Beijing. He also wants to learn Ballet. ? An old woman who fires her porcelin dolls. I forgot the other one.
